An epic saga of a man named Huntley Porter, nicknamed "Hunt" at an early age. Hunt is the Sheriff in a small Tennessee town run and controlled by a ruthless Mayor that virtually owns the town. Hunt turns bounty hunter after he is fired for punching the Mayor in the nose and arresting the Mayor's son. Hunt tracks a man across the plains to the Missouri River and returns with a criminal that is on the run from the law. Hunt meets a U.S. Deputy Marshal during his journey and is recruited into the U.S. Marshal Service.

The Hunt Series continues after graduation from the U.S. Marshal Services training. Hunt stops off in Kansas City while traveling to Denver and finds his friend, U.S. Deputy Marshal Burns shot by a sniper. Hunt gets permission to investigate and solve the crime before continuing on to Denver where he soon earns a reputation as a man that gets the job done by helping solve the murders of two U.S. Deputy Marshals and a string of other murders and robberies.

Hunt and his men are busy trying to trap a serial killer preying on lonely widows when the Denver Newspaper hires a nosy news reporter who foils their attempts at trapping the assailant by publishing the Marshal’s plans to capture him. The assailant strikes one last time and leaves town, and the men track him to New Orleans, where they are assisted by Ace Sterling, one of Hunt’s deputy marshals who has been promoted to U.S. Marshal of New Orleans.
