Kurz vor der Vollmondnacht erfahren Mimmi und Ondina, dass sie auf die jungen Meerjungfrauen aufpassen sollen, während der Schwarm den Kampf mit dem Drachen aufnehmen will. Die beiden erscheinen trotzdem vor der Insel Mako und warten mit den anderen Meerjungfrauen auf die Ankunft des Drachen. Weilan dagegen hat einen eigenen Plan.

Weilan erzählt von einer Technik, mit der man Kräfte eines Gegners auf diesen zurücklenken kann. Zac ist begeistert. Mit dieser Fähigkeit könnte man den gefährlichen Wasserdrachen besiegen. Er überredet Weilan, ihm diese Technik heimlich beizubringen. Doch Evie bekommt Wind davon und glaubt, es wäre mehr zwischen Weilan und Zac.

Mimmi muss Karl im Meerespark helfen und hat alle Mühe, ihr Geheimnis vor ihm zu verbergen. Und Ondina und Weilan hängen nach missglückten Mondring-Übungen von Evie buchstäblich in der Luft.
