About this listen
Backed by neuroscience and biblical principles, this book delivers a therapeutic model for couples who want to stop the painful patterns that harm their marriage so that they can build a stronger connection.
When Ron and Nan Deal suffered the devastating loss of their child, their marriage was nearly shattered by their destructive cycles. At wits' end, they sought the help of pioneering therapists Dr. Terry Hargrave and Sharon Hargrave, LMFT, whose transformational Restoration Therapy has helped millions through the practice of emotional mindfulness.
Now, the Deals and Hargraves introduce listeners to this proven method that challenges popular beliefs about how relationships work. They show listeners how to better understand themselves in times of emotional distress, so that they can self-regulate. Christian listeners will especially appreciate the balance of scientifically proven methods along with Scripturally sound teaching, resulting in more loving, faithful marital relationships.

Story
In Searching for Enough, Staton draws on ancient and modern insights to introduce us, as if for the first time, to Jesus' disciple Thomas: history's most notorious skeptic. Like Thomas, we're caught between two unsatisfying stories: We want to believe in God but can't reconcile his presence with our circumstances and internal struggles. But what if there's a better story than shame? What if there's redemption so complete that there's nothing left to hide? What if there's a God who can heal your resentments, fears, and loneliness in such a profound way that you feel whole?

Every relationship has its highs and lows, but we often don't know what to do with our "lows," or how we ended up there. What is creating friction, exacerbating our pain, and standing in the way of intimacy? More often than not, it is the stories of our past drifting into the present. But if we are willing to look at them closely, we will be able to write a new story for the future. With more than seventy years of therapeutic experience combined, Dan Allender and Steve Call demonstrate how God is inviting you and your partner to a wild faith journey with the hope of transformation.

“I want to believe, I want to have hope, but....” Pastor and author Craig Groeschel hears these words often and has asked them himself. We want to know God, feel his presence, and trust that he hears our prayers, but in the midst of great pain, we may wonder if he really cares about us. Even when we have both hope and hurt, sometimes it’s the hurt that shouts the loudest. Can God be good when life is not? You long to know that even in overwhelming reality, you can still believe that God is good.

We're all infected with a spiritual disease. Its name is shame. Whether we realize it or not, shame affects every aspect of our personal lives and vocational endeavors. It seeks to destroy our identity in Christ, replacing it with a damaged version of ourselves that results in unhealed pain and brokenness. But God is telling a different story for your life. Psychiatrist Curt Thompson unpacks the soul of shame, revealing its ubiquitous nature and neurobiological roots. He also provides the theological and practical tools necessary to dismantle shame.

The pain that happened to you is real . . . and it matters immensely. The notion of healing what you can’t erase is not about ignoring the devastation of your past or putting a glossy, positive spin on current tragedy. That plastic version of faith isn’t actually faith; it’s unbelief. Healing What You Can’t Erase offers a far better solution—a road map for moving forward through the losses and scars by allowing the power of the Holy Spirit to transform us . . . spirit, soul, and body.

Any given day brings a never-ending list of things to do. There’s the work thing, the catch-up thing, the laundry thing, the creative thing, the exercise thing, the family thing, the thing we don’t want to do, and the thing we’ve been putting off, despite it being the most important thing. Even on days when we get a lot done, the thing left undone can leave us feeling guilty, anxious, or disappointed.

Most of us know that sugar can wreak havoc on adult bodies, but few realize how uniquely harmful it is to the growing livers, hearts, and brains of children. And the damage can begin early in life. In his research on the effects of sugar on kids' present and future health, USC Professor of Pediatrics and Program Director for Diabetes and Obesity at Children's Hospital Los Angeles Michael Goran has found that too much sugar doesn't just cause childhood obesity, it can cause health issues in kids who are not overweight, too.

Story
In 2015, Inc. magazine recognized Noonday Collection as one of the fastest-growing companies in America. Years earlier, as Jessica Honegger stood at a pawn-shop counter in Austin, Texas, and handed over her grandmother's gold jewelry, her goal was personal: to fund the adoption of her Rwandan son by selling artisan-made jewelry. This first step launched an unexpected side-hustle that would grow into Noonday Collection. She teamed up with her first artisan partner, Jalia, a Ugandan jewelry maker and saw the meaningful impact Noonday brought to Jalia's community.

Story
We enter our romantic relationships with great love, hope, and excitement—we've found the 'one', so we plan and forge our futures together. But sometimes, for many different reasons, relationships come undone; they don't work out. Commonly, we view this as a personal failure, rather than an opportunity. And instead of honoring what we once meant to each other, we hoard bitterness and anger, stewing in shame and resentment. Sometimes even lashing out in destructive and hurtful ways, despite the fact that we’re good people at heart.

Annoying Voice kills annoying book

Great narrator!..😎👍
Over all, very practical, and made a lot of sense! ..🙏👍
Self Regulation, and communication with your spouse and even other relationships, in time, I feel could be very beneficial, if they are open to it!? ..🤔
But even if they aren't, you can still be at peace with yourself, and God, knowing that it's not other people that can give us what we long for, ..it's God and God alone!.🙏👍
He made us, and knows us even better than we can ever know our selves! . 🤔👍
So I choose to allow Him to mold and make me into the person He has chosen for me to be, and to be the most useful conduit I can be, for all those that don't know Him curently, and to possiblely come to know Him because, or in spite of the experiences in this life, and how I have chosen to process them, with Humility and Grace, because of what Jesus has done for me! ..🙏👍
One Day at a time Sweet Jesus, and applying the 4 steps of self regulation! ..🙏👍..Time and Application will tell all things! ..🙏👍
May God Bless all of you for sharing your hearts and struggles, with all those who will dare to listen, and or read, and Apply the 4 main principles laid out in this book, as we eventually Learn to Self Regulate, and became Transformed, by the Renewing of our minds, that we may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable, and perfect...in His eyes!..🙏👍
The Mindful Marriage, 2 thumbs up!...🙏👍👍😁
Insightful, practical, and makes good sense!.👍😁

This book is not about quick fixes—it’s about cultivating a marriage that reflects Christ through mindful choices, healthy communication, emotional maturity, and servant-hearted love. Ron’s insights are practical, yet deeply rooted in Scripture, making each chapter both relatable and spiritually enriching.
What I especially appreciated is how Ron speaks to the real-life complexities that couples face—especially remarried couples—without judgment, offering encouragement, hope, and tools to move forward together with grace. It reminded me that a strong marriage doesn’t just happen; it’s built daily through intentionality, prayer, and mutual surrender to the Lord.
Whether you’re newly married, remarried, or in a season of refining, The Mindful Marriage will bless your journey. It’s a must-read for anyone seeking to build a Christ-centered, emotionally healthy, and lasting relationship.
Relationship Savior!
