About this listen

In the wake of Donnyton's challenge, Randidly makes preparations for his planet's future.

All his cunning and crafting ingenuity flow into Kharon, the mechanical city. All his knowledge of metallurgy, engraving, and the System will shape this grand project. And if his theory proves true, the result will be much more alchemy than mechanism.

While Randidly Ghosthound has plans, so does the Nexus. During his next Judgement, an extra consequence is applied; he is kidnapped from Earth and taken to the outer reaches of the Nexus proper. There, he must fight against the endless horde of Nether Beasts that covet the resources of the Nexus.

Yet the powers of the Nexus did not spring this trap intending for him to survive. Not only is he conscripted, but his body is held ransom; to avoid execution, he must send images, conjured of Aether, out onto the battlefield in his place.

Nether is the most dangerous substance Randidly Ghosthound has encountered. And now his aspect of the Grim Chimera must wade in it.

great series

I enjoy this series quite a bit and this book was an enjoyable addition. However, the narrorator still needs to get someone to edit out all of his swallowing noises. It's so gross and distracting and comoleetly ruins my immersion in the story every time.

Good series, rough ending

The last 6 hours were quite slow. Even at 1.3x. The review requires 15 words minimum

Awesome storyline

Excellent twists and turns as always... however I am very upset they didn't say why he is so mad about the girl. My guess is she has some tie to the actress. She is the only one I know that can make him so mad.

ok

Not bad, not great either. This particular book started off decent then once his judgment came most of the story was very boring. The ending was good however.

My favorite series right now but some stuff pisses me off

I love this series. You can’t even imagine how much anticipation I had for 4/8/25 to come. I’m currently still in the early parts of this book but something frustrated me so much that I had to just come leave a review. I hate the current relationship between Lyra and Randidly. What is the author doing there? Why does he make it so annoying when they meet. They clearly care about each other but whenever they meet things just end up worse than the last time they did. And it’s because they both have mistaken impressions of each other as well as their stubborn personalities. One thing I hate seeing in shows and series is when 2 people who obviously care about each other and want to get along fall apart instead because of coincidences and personality. One person being too stubborn or as they’re about to finally get past the defenses they’ve set up and really talk to each other, something interrupts their conversation and makes things worse or leave them as they are to fester with time. I just hope the author does something about this because this is book 9!!!!! They’ve been playing this dance since book 1 and I’m tired of it. It’s still a great book though but this particular part was too annoying that i couldn’t wait to finish the book to drop a review.
