About this listen

I had lain down in my crypt to rest for a few decades, but when I awoke, centuries had passed. My castle is in ruins, my clan is gone, and necromancers are considered just a fairy tale for children.

They take me for a healer. That's because the world is sick. And it's time for strong medicine.

This story has the bones of a really good story, just falls short in a few ways. It’s almost like the author didn’t take the time to think a few things thru or go the extra distance for overall story development. The author attempts to take an MC from an ancient time and put the MC in a modern world. The modern world has its own dystopian quirks that are not developed very well from a story telling perspective. There is a secondary MC character that almost feels like an after thought, the personality of the character just feels out of place in the story and the fit is just wonky.

Good idea

This story follows an old necromancer who slept 1,000 years to the present age (2024). He learns about the new era, while slowly re-gathering his power.

Great story, Highly reccomend.

the voice is engaging and entertaining. Not only that but the story itself was captivating and very addictive. I am just sad that there isn't a volume two in audio. I have yo go to kindle to get the second vloume. just please don't change the speaker. they are completely perfect together the story with the speaker!!!!

The voice was entertaining and engaging

You know it has none of the shot falls of other books. An honest main character with power but an author who doesn't spend chapters building up the strength of the character only to be nerfed at every fight. The story was very good, good speed and I really enjoyed it.

it's a good listen

The Dark Healer is an outstanding addition to the Russian LitRPG genre. This story hits all the right notes: compelling character development, a protagonist who’s satisfyingly overpowered, and a magic system that sparks curiosity about where it could lead in future installments.

The balance between action, progression, and world-building is masterful, with the protagonist’s growth feeling both earned and exciting. The OP element is handled perfectly—it’s fun and empowering without taking away from the story’s tension or stakes.

If you’re a fan of classics like The Way of the Shaman or Reality Benders, you’ll definitely want to check this out. It’s a fantastic blend of the familiar tropes we love in Russian LitRPG with a fresh twist. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series!

A Standout in Russian LitRPG

The book was interesting, and I had fun learning a little more about the magical system and we're old they created.
The only downside was that the pacing was very off. sometimes things happened instantly. sometimes they were dragged out.
Once again, you have a very imperious overpowered character, who seemingly has No defects or challenges.
The character basically just blast through anything as though they were a magical Superman.
I definitely did not enjoy the attraction of the great-great-granddaughter to Grandpa... That just felt weird even though he passed it off as nothing.
I might try the next one, be warned this one is so abruptly you can tell they wrote it as one book then split it apart.

Interesting and fun

love the concept but didn't enjoy the way it was executed, story meanders, the swearing is childish, as well as the overly referenced sexual stuff. Ultimately I just got bored.

Fun idea...

If you can work with the narrator you are gonna like this book. Similar feel to "a healers way". If you can get past the first few chapters you will like the book a lot,

honestly pretty good
