Clive Staples Lewis (November 29, 1898 - November 22, 1963), born in Belfast, Ireland, was a British writer, literary scholar, and Anglican lay theologian. He held academic positions in English literature at both Magdalen College, Oxford, and Magdalene College, Cambridge. He is best known as the author of The Chronicles of Narnia and The Screwtape Letters. The following recording is a discussion on prayer, God and Christianity.

Drawn back to Narnia, Eustace Scrubb and his new friend Jill Pole are sent to rescue a captive prince. C S Lewis's philosophical defence of Natural Law (absolute morality) - without which human beings are reduced to less than fully human, and are, thus ‘abolished'. CS Lewis argues that objective value actually exists and that to believe otherwise is to create nonsense. Human beings appreciate values such as beauty and goodness because such things are part of reality - but if absolute morality is denied there will not be any progress for mankind as the things that matter most will be explained away.
