In "The Oakdale Affair", we follow further adventures of Bridge. Bridge finds himself sheltering from a storm with a mysterious thief. The pair rescue a young woman who's run afoul of her gangster boyfriend. It seems that everybody wants the loot that the thief stole, and somewhere out there is a kidnapped young woman who is the key to it all. Bridge will have a lot of juggling to do to keep gangsters, gypsies, and private detectives in line and solve the mystery at hand.

Madeline Hammond, New York society beauty, buys a ranch and is welcomed to the West with a bloody revolution, a bandit raid, and her own abduction.

Dracula begins with the journal of Jonathan Harker, a young solicitor on the way to Transylvania to give information to the mysterious Count Dracula about his new estate in London. Here is another marvelous Zane Grey novel. In his magnificent style, Zane Grey has crafted a story that’s both moving and exciting with new perils in every chapter. Not only is there gun fighting, cattle rustling and the battle over water holes, but the thrilling capture and winning over of Silvermane, the magnificent wild stallion admired and wanted by every white man and Indian on the desert. All of this is intermingled with tender love between the main character, Jack Hare and the beautiful half-breed maiden, Mescal.

This is a gripping story based on the author's personal experiences as a prisoner of the Japanese Army during World War II. In 1941, the Japanese Army aimed their victorious war machine at the Pacific island of Corregidor. American defenders, relying only on limited supplies of food and ammunition, were unable to repel the invasion. The island fell and thousands of Americans were taken prisoner. Many died daily from mistreatment, disease, malnutrition, or a combination of all three.
