Battling the devious element of Bish, Smoke seeks to free Sid from her cocoon. In DC Sticks, Boon and Melegal find themselves on the run from draykis hunters bent on their capture. In the meantime, Nath, Selene, Brenwar, Bayzog and Ben have their hands full battling one hive of warmers after another. The new menace is spreading too fast and dragon casualties are stacking up.

Venir is pushed to his limits in the Outlands: battling underlings and trying to find a way to staunch the underling armies that are quickly spreading from one corner of Bish to the other. Detective Melegal, struggling to get his life back under control, finds himself with more responsibility that he ever asked for. Not only does his life hang in the balance, but the fate of many others as well. Will his actions save them or spell doom for them all?

Detective Melegal remains neck deep in Royal Games, trying to hunt down the Slergs, who have Venir's son Brak in tow, as well as trying to enact his own personal vengeance on the Cleric Sefron. Mood the Blood Ranger and Fogle Boon have traveled deep into the bitter cold of the Nameless Mountains in hopes of finding a druid that can provide a cure for the dying two-headed dog, Chongo. But the mountains are full of dangers and surprises that even the brilliant mind of the mage Fogle Boon could never have anticipated.

With Venir imprisoned at the Outpost, who will step forward to protect Bish from the rising tide of underlings? Who will save Venir? What about the City of Bone? Have underling Lords Catten, Verbard and Master Kierway taken it over? Kam the mage and Lefty Lightfoot struggle to find a way out of The Nest, but will they need the help of a far more dangerous ally? What hand, if any, will Scorch have in all of this? Will another Darkslayer rise amid the chaos?

The elven roamers battle in the north to eradicate another titan and destroy the wurmer's life gem. Not all of the powerful elven rangers can survive the trap that is sprung in the titan's lair.

The growing menace of dragons continues to terrorize the streets of Washington D.C. as citizens turn up dead and disappear without explanation. When a mysterious shifter shows up with information about the immense power of the Lord Master, Smoke and Sid search in the mines of Virginia, only to stumble upon a deadly surprise. Meanwhile, armed with new weaponry, Abraham Jenkins and Sticks return to the now-abandoned Load Breaker and open a can of worms.

A new future unfolds. After a harrowing escape from Urslay, the city of giants, Nath, Brenwar, and Selene find themselves in the sanctuary of the Elven Field of Dreams. The solitude and peace in the lush land offers refreshing waters but that does not last long. The wilder elves, guardians of the sanctuary, take Nath and company prisoner as he stands accused of murder. Bewildered by the accusation, Nath searches for the truth only to have Fang stolen while he lies abandoned in an inescapable prison.

They want Nath Dragon ... Brenwar, Shum, Bayzog and Sasha's lives hang in the balance deep inside the crater. Ben discovers Garrison is an ally of the Clerics of Barnabus and has to handle it on his own. The War Priest Kryzak's diabolical plans continue to unfold with one trap after another. The High Priestess Selene's army is hunting the heroes down. Sansla Libor, the winged ape, still lingers nearby. Is he a threat or an ally? Nath Dragon's powers will be pushed to the limits.

In the grasp.... As darkness seeps over the land, Nath Dragon and company embark on a journey to the Land of the Elves in pursuit of the Occular of Orray. Under the watchful eye of his friends?Brenwar the Dwarf, Shum the Elven Rover, Bayzog the part-Elf wizard, and Sasha the sorceress? Nath finds himself wanting to test his set of two Dragon arms. The Clerics of Barnabus are after Nath Dragon, tracking his every move.

Nath Dragon's father, Balzurth, has disappeared and delivered himself into the hands the titan leader, Eckubahn. It's up to Nath Dragon and his comrades to save his father before the entire world of Nalzambor is turned upside down. In the meantime, the elves and dwarves are still hunting Nath Dragon. They want to bring him to justice for the murders of their leaders. What will Nath do when there is nowhere to run and he must face his fate?

More enemies rise ...The ruthless titans begin to put the squeeze on the people of Nalzambor in their search for Nath Dragon and his father Balzurth. Eckubahn, the titan king and ruler of the giants will stop at nothing to destroy the both of them. In his stead Eckubahn employs Rybeck, a cunning warrior with a deep grudge against Nath Dragon. The vengeful fighter takes his quest to heart. Reunited, Nath and his father, Balzurth, become closer.

With the dragon king Balzurth, dead at the hands of the titans Eckubahn and Isobahn, it's up to Nath Dragon to take his father's throne. The task makes him uneasy as he must lead the dragons against the evil forces of the titans and wurmers. Inside his gut, Nath knows that something is wrong. How can he be the dragon king when he can't even turn into a dragon himself? His doubts continue to consume him.

Grey Cloak and Talon face off against Black Frost’s forces, which are imbued with godlike powers and will settle for nothing less than the heroes' deaths. Dyphestive and Zanna Paydark are charged with the dangerous undertaking of rescuing Queen Rhonna—who holds the key to defeating the enemy—from an impenetrable prison in Dwarf Skull.

With their backs against the wall, Grey Cloak, Dyphestive, and Streak take on an improbable mission through the Time Mural to recover an artifact of mass destruction that’s been hidden for centuries. Meanwhile, in Arrowwood, Bowbreaker finds himself in the fight of his life to liberate his elven people.

Captive to Selene and the five-year Truce, Nath itches to know that his friends are well. Yet he can't seem to change into dragon form again. Maybe if he jumps from this balcony... Brenwar, Pilpin, Shum, and Hoven see the signs that the Dragon King is rallying his dragon army. Gorlee feels drawn to The Deep, certain he will regain his memories down there.

The struggle continues ... Times have become more perilous in Nalzambor for everyone, especially Nath Dragon and his friends. Departing from the Floating City, Nath Dragon's patience is put to the test.

Nath Dragon leads Bayzog, Brenwar, and Ben east to the River Cities with hopes of ending the way the Forces of Barnabus control the dragons. But the peaceful River Folk are also controlled by the soldiers of Barnabus, and Nath and company struggle to find allies among them. And what terror lies in the Floating City, the key to it all? Can Nath Dragon find his way in and find a way out again?

Grey Cloak and Dyphestive must mount a rescue to the Nether Realm and take down Utlas, the Speaker of the Dead. Stranded in Bish with time running out, Gossamer and Datris must face off against Dirklen and Magnolia, or risk being destroyed.
