This collection of some of the mature gems from the writings of Watchman Nee has found widespread acceptance as a devotional book for each day of the year.

Authority is a tremendous thing in the universe, nothing overshadows it. God's throne is established on His authority. God's authority represents God Himself. God alone is authority in all things; all the authorities of the earth are instituted by God. It is therefore important for us who desire to serve God to know the authority of God.

This volume consists of a series of messages delivered by the noted Chinese pastor-teacher Watchman Nee during a training period for workers held in Kuling, Foochow, China, in 1948.

What is the missing link to a glorious church? Can it be the lack of "full knowledge and all perception that ye may prove [or, distinguish] the things that differ" (literal translation)? Watchman Nee's thesis in this book is that Christ came to mankind by way of the cross, and only by this same way can we know him. At the source of all spiritual things, he says, stands the cross.

"My Father worketh even until now, and I work," declared the Lord Jesus while on the Earth (John 5:17). Having thus laid the foundation of the work, Christ commands his Church to fulfill it in the power of the Holy Spirit. We Christians who are the many-membered body of Christ have a pressing need to know how to serve according to God.

In this volume, Watchman Nee, the noted Chinese pastor/writer, presents to us a biblical interpretation of creation, not arguing for the scientific accuracy of the Genesis account, but stipulating that God is greater than science.

As we are quickly approaching the close of this age with the blessed hope in view of the dawning of a new age, even the millennium, it is no surprise that the hearts of God's children are increasingly drawn to the last book of the Bible, Revelation. Mankind could not fully understand what divine grace is till it was revealed in Jesus Christ; nor could believing mankind fully apprehend the depth of that grace till it be found in Christ Jesus. In August 1937 brother Watchman Nee gave a series of ten messages in Singapore on the Biblical theme of Amazing Grace. They were greatly appreciated at that time by those who heard. Now for the first time they have been translated into English for the benefit of the English-speaking world.

God has his work. And this work is not your work or mine, nor the work of this mission or that group. It is God's own work. The church is called to be a co-worker with God. But can we labor with God if we are still ignorant of what His work is? Many today work for God, but who are working with God?
