About this listen

Following her explosive debut thriller Falling and its harrowing follow-up Drowning, #1 internationally bestselling author T.J. Newman is back with Worst Case Scenario.

When a pilot suffers a heart attack at 35,000 feet, a commercial airliner filled with passengers crashes into a nuclear power plant in the small town of Waketa, Minnesota, which becomes ground zero for a catastrophic national crisis with global implications.

The International Nuclear Event Scale tracks nuclear disasters. It has seven levels. Level 7 is a Major Accident, with only two on record: Fukushima and Chernobyl. There has never been a Level 8. Until now.

In this heart-stopping thriller, ordinary people—power plant employees, firefighters, teachers, families, neighbors, and friends—are thrust into an extraordinary situation as they face the ultimate test of their lives. It will take the combined courage, ingenuity, and determination of a brave few to save not only their community and loved ones, but the fate of humanity at large.

Oh my gosh! TJ Newman quickly became one of my favorite authors. I loved Falling and Drowning but I think this one just moved up to the top of my list. Like with the other two, this book is heart-pounding, breath-holding greatness.

Incredible book

Good book but ruined by George W Bush-er, Joe Morton’s horrible narration and the cheap sound effects. Whatever happened to classic narration with an experienced narrator not an actor?

It’s nuclear (new-klee-er) not new-cue-ler!!

It took a hold of me right at the beginning and never let up! A beautifully written book!

A gripping story from beginning to end!

TJ has done it again! I cried. I chuckled. I was transported to Waketa, MN as I listened and read this book.

Just as moving as it was thrilling!

Whenever I read a TJ Newman book, I find myself asking, “Why was she ever a flight attendant?” Her writing is gripping and her storytelling is top notch. Do not hesitate to read this and her other books. Amazing. Quickly becoming a favorite author of mine.

So Good

A far fetched and melodramatic take on a nuclear disaster. The worst part was the mispronunciation of “nuclear”. Actor said “nucular” over and over and over. So annoying. If I wasn’t on a road trip I would have stopped after 10 minutes and asked for a refund. This is my third and last by the author, who keeps writing the same cliche characters and is obsessed with underwater welding. Amateur, corny, gratuitous and pointless.

Bad pronunciation, cloying story

I worked in the nuclear field for several years and when that jargon started I had to stop at chapter 4 and order a copy for my ex that still works in that field!
My only complaint is there should be a breath taken for a one second pause between scenes. I had to backup a few times thinking I'd accidentally skipped to the next chapter.

Do you have my CD's?

This book is GO GO GO. Can’t wait for the next one. The narrator is great too!

Excellent
