About this listen

A gripping apocalyptic thriller about a man and his family running for their lives in an America gone mad—from the New York Times bestselling author of Dark Matter and Recursion

No time to think. No time to ask why. Only time to run.

Five days ago, the epidemic of rage began.

Four days ago, the rash of senseless murders swept the nation.

Three days ago, the president addressed the country and begged for peace—even as the murders increased tenfold.

Two days ago, the killers began to mobilize.

One day ago, the power went out.

And tonight, the killers are reading the names of those to be killed over the Emergency Broadcast System.

Jack Colclough is listening over the battery-powered radio on his kitchen table in Albuquerque, and he just heard his name. People are coming to his house to kill him, his wife, his daughter, and his son.

He has no idea what’s happening, or why, but the time for questions is long past.

His only chance is to run.

Following an ordinary family on a desperate race through an America that’s destroying itself, Run is a terrifying, brutally stripped-down thriller from master storyteller Blake Crouch.

Run! Excellent listen.

Yes, Run! is brutal and harsh, but readers shouldn't be surprised because the title summary and Apocalypse subject matter should let you know ahead of time how this book will go. But it's also a story of fighting for the ones you love and never giving up. Awesome job by the author and the narration was perfect.

I really liked this one

I was terrified the entire book LOL which is what I wanted. Loved the story. Loved the characters. The ending was a little *too* happy for me but overall loved the aurora concept!

Whoa!

One of the only books I’ve listened to in the car where my teenagers got upset when we reached our destination. Edge of your seat good and a reminder love comes first…and last.

Nothing like Black Matter or Recursion

This is just a well written apocalyptic novel, it is missing the science of Black Matter

Relationship with the two main adult characters

Suspenseful story with the expected and not so fun BC gross out scenes, but unlike some of this author’s greatest works (Pines, Dark Matter and others) the underpinning of this story seemed under developed.

The Resilience of Family

I think this book was a great addition to Blake Crouch’s collection. While the circumstances surrounding the apocalyptic state of the world leave the reader a mystery, I think the true purpose of this book is to showcase the bond between spouses, and the incredible responsibility of having children. An ordinary couple goes to extraordinary lengths to protect each other, and their family. The children are forced to mature rapidly in a world that has seemingly gone to hell. This book explores, “How far would you go?”, “How much could you endure?”, beyond would-you-die-for-me, “Would you live for me? Would you survive for our family?” And, “What really matters in this world? What do I need to be happy?”

I can see how this title is different than his other novels, so some readers may not enjoy. I did quite like it personally, as I’m also someone who enjoys both scifi and horror books. If the same is true for you, give it a try!

What Would You Do?

Loved this book! It’s a testament to the true love of a parent as well as our own humanity. I highly recommend!

Non-Stop Thrill Ride

Crouch rarely lets you take a breath as the Colclough family runs for their lives against insurmountable odds.

Not at the Dark Matters level for sure

Just a survival story with gore fest. Nothing memorable. Similar to Recursion, this one is forgetable.

Another winner!

Blake Crouch has done it again. I am sure this will make its way to the big screen. It’s riveting. A thriller from start to finish. Sad and scary, but also hopeful. It will make you think about the things that really matter in life. Great read/listen!!!
