Editorial Review

My favorite series is back!
When I heard that the Oracle series was coming back with a third installment this year, I absolutely couldn’t wait. The perfect combination of fascinating characters, ample twists and turns, and Joshua Jackson’s engaging narration always make for a wild, compelling ride. Oracle 3: Murder at the Grandview is everything I loved about the first two Oracle stories, and so much more. I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. Jackson sets the pace with his urgent and gripping tone, drawing you into the story and bringing FBI psychic Nate Russo to life. I crave psychological thrillers to escape my daily routine, and this one truly hit the mark. Now I’m impatiently waiting for everyone I know to finish listening so that we can finally discuss. I have chills! —Esther B., Audible Editor

This 3rd Oracle did not disappoint! I enjoyed the whole story before I listened to the afterward. I won’t spoil it for you, but it was heartfelt and touching. 🩷

Great finale

There were the minor “historical” details that seemed inconsistent in Oracle 3, which okay. But, given that some of the characters were first hand witnesses to some of the supernatural occurrences in Oracle 2, their disbelief of supernatural explanations here did not make sense. I initially thought that perhaps Oracle 3 was meant to actually take place between the events of Oracle and Oracle 2, but for the reference to characters first introduced in Oracle 2.

Characters and details from Oracle and Oracle 2 not consistent

I only pushed through 2 because I had sampled 3 and knew it was done like the first one was.

2 sucked but 3 redeemed it.

Over all a nice read but I feel it slipped from the last two installments, some characters seemed to regress in their relationship in the series
Didn’t know till the end that the author sadly passed away and his friend help finish this book
This is a nice and touching tribute the the author legacy

Not as good as the last

Just when I thought I'd figured it out, another twist or turn. Kept me engaged and captivated. The details on the entities were detailed and visible to me. There were some aspects that unimaginable almost like a nightmare with your eyes open.

I kept thinking the writing style is different from the other 2 books, well there is a reason for it. I really wish Joshua Jackson will narrate more books, he made this series.

All the problems I had with this book are explained by the need to have a different author write it. The performance was excellent. The story was engaging and interesting. Overall, I'm glad to have listened. There are a few inconsistencies between books that bothered my willing suspension of disbelief. None were truly problematic, though. In fact, I felt the new author did a great job matching the original style.

*Mild Spoiler*:
The two agents accompanying our hero left the previous book seeming to accept the supernatural. At the very least, they seemed to understand some things could not be rationally explained with him. This time, they seem to have dived back to before the first book in disbelief of anything strange. That's my biggest complaint. This could have been fixed in a few ways, including a story loophole in this book. Again, still worth a read. I hope we get more of these.

The only thing that drives me nuts is a major continuity error, the address of the house of the Bone Man. While I understand that this book was co-written, that address 42 Henry Street is major story point in all 3 audio books, more so in the first book. The address is given so many times throughout the first two books that when it is wrong in this one it is glaringly obvious. How 42 Henry Street became 42 South Williams Street I don't know.
The other minor errors are in 2 of the main characters in the series. They errors are that Claire and Greg no longer believe in what Nate can do which after the previous 2 audio books shouldn't have happened. It is in these errors that the co-writer is obvious and I wonder if he had listened to his friend's audio books prior to co-writing the final installment.

Continuity errors.
