Loved it
As a fitness coach, it can be difficult to get people to stick the nutrition and exercise schedule that I have set with them, even though their goals are 100% reliant on it. My mentor recommended I give this book a whirl to see if it could help shed some light on why this is, and to help me to better direct my clients to adhere to what I set them. I’ve already put into practice several of the strategies and I’m pleased to say that so far they seem to be working!
A bonus factor that helps with my client’s results, and my pay check, is that I’ve used the emotional buy in stuff to get clients to do 1 or even 2 more sessions per week extra without cutting my prices or doing deals. This is what I call a total win win. Best book of the year for me!

Among the piles of baloney, this book stands out
I’ve downloaded pretty much every dark psychology book there is with the aim to pick up either a new way of looking at something or (hopefully) something entirely new! This book covered quite a few of the basics in an easy to replicate way. It also outlines some solid strategies on defending yourself against manipulations and reflecting one person’s mental ‘attack’ back onto them, again with a few ideas that I hadn’t heard before. I look forward to hearing more from this author.

Welcome to Jedi School
A fun and interesting look at what is thought of as a devious or evil subject. Using someone’s own ego to guide them where you want them, and even making them think that they thought of it in the first place is more like a how to guide on using a real Jedi mind trick. Simple but Clever
Ultimately, it’s about results. A lot of what the author covers is either about protecting your mind from unwanted influence or on methods focused on moving you further towards what you want in your life. If there was a manta for this book it would be, keep it simple – keep it effective – get results. Very good.

Defend or Deflect Idiots
There’s enough idiots in world trying to disrupt your calm. Luckily there are ways to deflect and defend against them. There’s a part that I liked which talks about using gaslighting as a defence rather which was an interesting idea. It follows the story of a who’s co-worker at her day job has found ‘tasteful artistic’ photos of her on the internet and is weirdly trying to blackmail her. She uses a method of gaslighting defence to deflect and discredit the co-worker. You go girl!

This one really stands out to me
There are a lot of books and audiobooks with the same or very similar sort of titles. This one stands out from the others, and I must admit that even though it’s over 4 hours long, I listened to the whole thing in one sitting! It touches on so many different scenarios (some fictitious and some factual) always to demonstrate and support the author’s point. I like that despite the fairly dark nature of the subject, it is delivered in an informative and sometimes dare I say, humorous way which really held my interest!

Don’t sell a product, sell someone their fantasy!
I bought this to listen to on my commute to work and I’m pleased that I did. Due to my background in sales, I am already aware to some of the rapport building methods described within, but the author nails them and builds them even further. Have you ever just met someone, and it felt as though you have known them for years? Well Bailey explains why this happens and how you can replicate it time and time again. If this sort of thing interests you, I recommend that you check this one out.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words
Without laboring the point, Bailey talks a lot about how to mirror people properly. It’s all a part of the understanding body language and rapport building parts of the book. It’s great advice that I already personally sort of use to build connections at business events when I don’t already know anyone. I’m going to focus on the mirroring aspects (language as well as actions) at my next networking event and see if I can make that work for me as it seems simple enough.

See What Most Others Can’t
If you’re interested in this sort of thing, then you won’t be disappointed. A wealth of information is covered in just over 4 hours! How to read people and situations and directing them to where you want them are simple to apply. I enjoyed that it explains the how and the why each method works.
