About this listen

Free, powerful, and in possession of a dead Lord’s storage ring, all he needs is a new identity, and he can start his career as an archhuman delver.

With his time in Faralethal’s mines coming to an end, Freddy is finally free to tackle the world. With the spoils of his unlikely victory, he expects to take the world of delving by storm. Unfortunately for him, things are never that easy.

Big city life is harsh for those without backing. There are many who have been born into power, and many who are willing to do anything to get ahead.

In the grand scheme of things, an independent two-star is still prey.

But with the freedom, funds, and most importantly, time, it won’t be long until he shows the world why, despite all that had tried to kill him, he is still alive and thriving.

Book 2 of this action-packed LitRPG Adventure from Robert Blaise set two hundred years after a reality-altering apocalypse.

Featuring a weak-to-strong Brawler MC who never backs down, a unique power system, apocalyptic elements and more!

Very good sequel.

If I'm being completely honest I didn't like Freddy as a character, he reminds me a little to much of myself not the tortured past but the self doubt and loathing with a bitter and jaded view of the world but little by little he came out of his shell and I began to like Freddy but the truly ironic thing is I put this down found book 3 on royalroad and read ahead a little because I had a issue with something and HOLY CRAP HE PEAKS in book 3 it made me eager to continue and I can't wait till book 3 his arrival in the Northern Belt is just wow brutal

Weak to Strong Mc

I'm tired of the MC woe is me trope. you would think the MC would grow a bit and become more mature. but he's a whiny b i t c h. has a an ability to become insanely strong but refuses to actually improve on fighting. had a great opportunity to train but his ego is way to large for his capabilities and top it off he is a huge coward. the repetitive conversation and inner dialogue is a bit annoying. so hopefully next book he grows a pair and becomes more mature and uses his brain.

I love dark litpgs but ...

Robert Blaise takes it up a notch in the sequel! I enjoyed how the cool magic stuff kept coming while also adding more complex and nuanced interpersonal relationships. Freddy is still a hyper vigilant, untrusting guy, but he also has to live within society. The author plays well with this dynamic.

Solid entry!

This series has been great through the first two installments. Great character development, plot progression, and mechanics. Good blend of hard realism and dark humor with just the right sprinkle of goofiness from time to time. MC is OP but is constantly challenged and taken to the extreme. Nothing comes easy. Great narration. 10/10 recommend

All around fantastic story

The writing and world building are good, sometimes great!. The setting is fun and the system of magic interesting. The characters are all assholes. There are no good people here, or decent people, only the worst people. The best, most upstanding character only realized they were being awful after days of doing it. That was the character growth.

The MC is a huge ass to everyone he meets and interacts with. Even people who work with him and are hugely valuable. Kind words have no place in 1% lifesteal.

The actual terrorists have the best outward philosophy...

This is not a feel good fun book. Interesting story though. If all the above doesn't bother you, an excellent read awaits!

A story filled with awful people doing awful things. There shall be no smiles or joy!

I love that it doesn't shy away from giving the mc brutal reasons to adapt and survive.

I enjoyed this entry overall, but I hope the next book will shake things up. Without spoiling anything, I felt that this entry followed a similar formula to book 1. Hoping for more as this has good potential

Shaky, but still good

First, I liked most the book and the pacing wasnt too bad. Still nothing too special about the MC. He is a bit of a coward when it comes to fighting and risks.
Now it seems intentional and curious where it's going but the character doesn't become softer and more open, instead getting more jaded and cold. Honestly should just kill more people and hide the bodies.

He also is a major ass in this book. Constantly whining like an angry 14 year old and shouting at anyone who spends time with him. Its pretty pathetic.
He also has this major hate the spoiled rich thing going yet to be like them and be rich then spend his money on girls and clubs. Acting like a major prat. Like an utterly idiotic club going show off. So that is pretty sad too.

Luckily besides the MC being a whiney tantrum throwing coward sniveling about the rich while idolizing being one. The story itself is fun and gritty.
Though is did skip ALOT of side chacter BS. Because who cares what mark and others are up to. That spoils the surprise for when freddy finds out. Dramatic irony is not for me, ruins the book with unneeded tension.

What's the opposite of character growth?
