About this listen

The Initiation has begun. As the universe merges into the multiverse, its inhabitants are thrust into a trial designed to prepare them for the sweeping changes that will redefine existence itself.

Alistair’s life is turned upside down when he is abruptly separated from his friends and family. As the universe slowly transforms and new laws take hold, everyone within his universe is cast into the trial—a crucible of survival and transformation. Before being set on his path, Alistair encounters a system avatar—a brief and enigmatic guide who offers little explanation, guidance, or aid before sending him and the rest of his universe into the unknown.

Stranded on a trial world, Alistair must fight to survive. Delving into dungeons, hunting great beasts, and navigating the diverse Trial Worlds and Subspaces, he begins a desperate quest to reunite with his loved ones.

Along the way, he finds his soulmate—a demoness from another world. Together, they face the trial, forge bonds, and grow stronger as they uncover what the future holds for them and the rest of their universe.

it was... fine. not as good as I'd hoped, but fine, I guess. The beginning was really tough to get through and I took a couple breaks before pushing through. my main issue was the insane pacing and scaling rate. he immediately for an overpowered affinity, got so many skill and loot choices that I quickly started zoning out and having to repeatedly rewind during them, and he could basically get any ability he wanted I'd he just thought about it hard enough. he could blink AND fly by like level 15.
it got moderately better after meeting other people, like his girl, but my main issue still remains, there's just way too much, way too fast.

it's fine..

I really like the book. and can't wait till the next one. it has a very interesting take on several aspects. I really like the book overall. though I like the part where he thought everything was legendary...

It starts a bit forced and rough and I thought about putting it down but then it started to feel like the author found there flow and it really just gets better the longer I listen and I really recommend the book. If you’re looking for a LITRPG with romance. (not a harem),feel good not grim dark book, with characters that might at first be cardboard cutouts who really begin to come to life. I can without a doubt recommend this book

I greatly enjoyed the expansion of fantasy aspects and not just sticking to the generic other fantasy mechanics and plots. Although there was a little bit of plot armor but I wasn’t exactly opposed to it. I would’ve been sad if that character did die in the dungeon. Not gonna say who, just in case if anybody is reading this review that has not yet listen to the story but if you were considering on buying this book, I would say use the credit. It was a great listen.

The creativity in the concept of the story

I have listened to alot of this genre. I loved the couple facing the challenges together. I found myself rooting for the two of them rising to the occasion by supporting each other's interests. The snarky bard like interactions are fun and reinforce the relationships.

Nice!!

nothing groundbreaking a kitchen soup system apocalypse with this first book being all tutorial. the main haracters are pretty likable. there was a fair bit of focus the romance subplot it wasn't bad but the main character does feel a bit lasèissez faire about the whole apocalypse part overall it was fun though

was very well done

Good book I’m enjoying it so far. It’s very similar to primal hunter and other books like Defiance of the Fall. If you enjoyed those books you might enjoy this one.

Warning! The main character hunts down and slaughters many kids.

Love the storyline. It is good to have a series that is more than just murder hobos. Would love more exploration but I have a feeling that might be coming in future books.

Good storyline

it was a very good book. I like the incorporation of several different styles the normal tropes and The characters were good pretty much everything was good except the chapters always seem to end on like an awkward note like they should have gone on to include some of the next chapter and the next chapter with this place there for random reasons. each chapter really didn't have a good endpoint to me at least about the book itself was good.

a good book
