  • Season 3 | Ep 17 - Paul Hallam on stepping down from CEO role of his agency just before the pandemic hit, and what happened next!
    Nov 20 2020

In today’s episode, I was joined on LinkedIn live by my Co-host Pete Watson and Paul Hallam, Partner and the Founder and Executive Director of Six Degrees Executive- a leading Australian executive recruitment business with 90 staff across offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Paul shared how after 16 years as CEO of his agency, in Feb 2019 he decided to step down from this role and handed over the helm to Suzie McInerney, previously state director in the business.

He had grand plans of changing his lifestyle, investing time ON the business and other ventures he was already invested in and passionate about.

However as the 12 month hand over period came to an end, the Pandemic hit!

In this episode, we talked about:

    • How Six Degree’s handled the first wave of the virus
    • The ways in which the business stayed ‘connected’ and maintained it’s thriving culture
    • How Paul personally felt during the extended lockdown
    • His vision for the future and advice to UK recruitment business owners in Lockdown #2

A fascinatingly successful leader whom I have had the pleasure of working with personally as part of the Hoxo Academy, it was a true pleasure for Pete and I to interview him.

If you would like to reach out to Paul and ask any questions directly, he is more than happy to give up some time!

  • Season 2 | Ep 8 - Elliot Dell on growing Salt - the globally recognised Digital & Tech recruiter through organic growth and M&A activity!
    Nov 27 2019

On this week's show, I was delighted to spend time with Elliot Dell, the CEO of Salt - a well known brand in the Digital Recruitment market, globally. Headquartered in London with 220 staff across offices in Asia, Australia, USA and the Middle East, Elliot joined as a recruiter and worked his way up to CEO after 10 years.

Salt didn’t actually exist when he joined, it was a small, family owned exec search business that soon changed with Elliot’s influence. As Salt gathered momentum, they soon acquired another business named 'Salt’ in New Zealand and that’s where things really took off.

Elliot has an incredible energy and passion for growing a fantastic business that can truly change the Digital Recruitment world. Whilst growing international teams at work, he is also the father of 3 children and has a super active lifestyle - an inspirational guy for sure!
