• The Final Episode
    Oct 20 2022

Hey there, it’s Sarah Potter host of Social Media Therapy. I have some big news coming your way…I’m shutting down this podcast. But, don’t you worry because this content isn’t going away forever, it’s just moving. Some of these episodes will be grandfathered into my new podcast, Dopamine Deficient.

What does that mean? Firstly, dopamine is feel-good neurotransmitter. And for those of us who’re dopamine deficient, it means our dopamine receptors are too few, or they might not be receiving the proper levels of dopamine.

So, why am I getting rid of this podcast and starting a new one? Well, I initially started this podcast with a co-host and we were talking about social media and focused on validating social media manager emotions–that original messaging has changed A LOT.

Since establishing Social Media Therapy my entire life has flipped upside down and changed a lot. In good ways and challenging ways. Through this change I’ve met and connected with so many people struggling with their own mental illness and dopamine deficiencies. One thing everyone seems to struggle with is understanding their mental health and how to live a life unmasked.

Living a happy life with a dopamine deficiency is challenging but not impossible. So on Dopamine Deficient you’ll hear what mental illnesses and disorders are affected by dopamine deficiency, learn how to change the way we think about our own mental health, create an arsenal of tools to help you cope, and  break down the stigmas surrounding mental illness.

Search for “Dopamine Deficient” on iTunes and Spotify now and subscribe today. Cheers to change and changing the world.

  • F*** Instagram and the BS posting strategies we’re told to go for with Rachel Pereya
    Oct 13 2021

Instagram is super annoying, right? And now, knowing that Facebook, owner of IG, isn't doing its job in removing hate speech, digital crimes, and has bolstered its algorithm to prioritize hate, it’s even less appealing than it already was. Am I right? In this episode, Rachel Pereya, a business operations specialist, joins me as we discuss the mental health aspects of creating content for a platform we hate.

  • How to Stop Feeling Inferior When You Have a Small Marketing Budget
    Jun 30 2021

Marketing budget. It sounds like such an overly professional thing that should just be easy to understand right? For me, marketing budgets cause me so much anxiety. Mainly because I just suck at budgeting overall. But when I went into business school in 2017 I spent a lot of time building a marketing budget, understanding how they function in the grand scheme of a business, and how truly easy they are to implement and create.

In this episode Sarah and Alli breakdown what marketing budgets are and how we can tell anxiety to take a hike.

We constantly compare ourselves to others on social media. Be it from looking at an ad, scrolling through our endless feeds, or searching out content of others we idolize.
