Story
When a loved one dies, the pain of loss can feel unbearable—especially in the case of a traumatizing death that leaves us shouting, “NO!” with every fiber of our body. The process of grieving can feel wild and nonlinear—and often lasts for much longer than other people, the nonbereaved, tell us it should. Organized into fifty-two short chapters, Bearing the Unbearable is a companion for life’s most difficult times, revealing how grief can open our hearts to connection, compassion, and the very essence of our shared humanity.

Like having a supportive friend by your side
If you're struggling with the raw, confusing emotions of sudden loss, this book feels like a gentle hand guiding you through the stages of grief. I liked how it encouraged emotional expression, in particular the art suggestion about creating something to memorialize moments that were meaningful in their life. Most of all I liked the workbook exercises because you can explore your feelings at your own pace. Altogether making it just a little easier to move forward. I'd recommend this to anyone going through the weight of grief.
