About this listen

In the dark, spellbinding sequel to One Dark Window, Elspeth must confront the weight of her actions as she and Ravyn embark on a perilous quest to save the kingdom—perfect for listeners of Hannah Whitten's For the Wolf and Alexis Henderson's The Year of the Witching.

Gripped by a tyrant king and in the thrall of dark magic, the kingdom is in peril. Elspeth and Ravyn have gathered most of the twelve Providence Cards, but the last—and most important—one remains to be found: the Twin Alders. If they’re going to find the card before Solstice and set free the kingdom, they will need to journey through the dangerous mist-cloaked forest. The only one who can lead them through is the monster that shares Elspeth’s head: the Nightmare.

And he’s not eager to share any longer.

What listeners say about Two Twisted Crowns

Highly rated for:

The Audiobook Appears To Be A Fantasy Duology With A Unique Magic System And Intricate World-building. Many Reviewers Praised The Captivating Storyline, Compelling Character Arcs, And Unexpected Plot Twists. However, Some Found The Pacing To Be Slow At Times, The Narration Confusing, And Certain Characters Underdeveloped. While Some Enjoyed The Unpredictable Nature Of The Story, Others Found It Predictable Or Were Unsatisfied With The Ending. Themes Of Fantasy, Romance, Gothic Elements, Family Dynamics, And The Battle Between Good And Evil Are Prevalent Throughout The Books.

One of the best duologies

I loved this duology it was so unique and well written. I really felt so enthralled in these characters and the stories. The narrator did a great job with the different characters and brought them to life. This was one of the best sequels I’ve read.

Absolutely stunning

Beautifully written and so unique. The mythology and how it’s conveyed throughout both books blew my mind. Perfect narration.

Also, I think I’m in love with Elm.

Great Story

Overall, I absolute loved these two books. Very unique magical rules and interesting characters. The only thing I wish was better was if the voice actor distinguished more between the characters and kept better consistency for each character. I still enjoyed their performance, it just made it confusing in several places. Wish there was a third book in the series, but the end was wrapped up nicely.

The narrator was good. The story eh.

This was well narrated for one person. Each character appeared to have a different voice. The plot was good, but the story drones on too much with so many repetitive phrases and poems etc. also left a lot to be desired for me in character depth and development etc.

It’s true

The second book is somehow better than the first and I really liked the first.

Even better than the first one

A new (to me) take on magic. I was interested from the very beginning and am bummed it’s over.

Monster with purpose

I enjoyed this duo-logy and this book tied things together perfectly. Power comes with a price no matter if you are a peasant, a prince, or a King.
