About this listen

Bloomsbury presents Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas, read by Elizabeth Evans.

Lethal. Loyal. Legendary.

Enter the world of Throne of Glass with the first book in the #1 bestselling series by Sarah J. Maas.

In a land without magic, an assassin is summoned to the castle. She has no love for the vicious king who rules from his throne of glass, but she has not come to kill him. She has come to win her freedom. If she defeats twenty-three murderers, thieves, and warriors in a competition, she will be released from prison to serve as the King’s Champion.

Her name is Celaena Sardothien.

The Crown Prince will provoke her. The Captain of the Guard will protect her. And a princess from a faraway country will befriend her. But something rotten dwells in the castle, and it’s there to kill. When her competitors start dying mysteriously, one by one, Celaena’s fight for freedom becomes a fight for survival—and a desperate quest to root out the evil before it destroys her world.

Thrilling and fierce, Throne of Glass is the first book in the #1 New York Times bestselling series that has captivated readers worldwide.

Narrator is annoying. Over annunciates everything.

Story was ok… the best assassin alive in this world is a bratty teenager. She is aloof and goofy.

Not what I had expected.

Could not stand the narrator…

The story is fantastic, but every male voice sounded pompous even when they were supposed to sound tender or loving. Too forced. Women characters were solid though.

Great story

I like this book, a lot. Enough to purchase the next in the series. The premise was somehow familiar yet felt new. It was interesting, thrilling and painted excellent visual imagery. It didn’t drag, and wasn’t full of cheesy cop outs. I’ll ride along, just to see where Selena goes. But I’ll never forgive Maas for naming k-Alle so.

My fifth book by Maas

TOG is my favorite of Sarah J Maas series and the narrator for this audiobook was AWESOME

My absolute favorite fantasy series!!!

Read knowing that this is for young adults. Don’t compare it to Brandon Sanderson or anything. This is a very fun and well written young fantasy read when you want a creative fantasy story and a break for your brain.

A fun story very well read.

I’ve been shoving this one to the back of my TBR because I typically lean towards something a little more ‘new adult’. But I should’ve read it sooner! Loved it! And I hear that it just keeps getting better and better with each book!

Def worth a listen!!!!!

I love this narrator firstly, secondly, I have never listened to anything by Sarah J Maas that I haven't liked. Get out, you won't be disappointed.

So worth it

definitely had some weird romance in there that I wasn't the most fond of in terms of build up, but great story and performance 👍

This was a great story and can’t wait for the second book.
I will say that some parts were hard to understand which character was being portrayed. Sometimes in the same chapter it would switch from one perspective to another without any warning and you kind of had to just follow along with it. It could just be me that feels this way though. Other than that, I love the series already and can’t wait for more.

Great Story

Overall, I liked the story. It was a bit slow paced and very detailed, but the characters and world building aspects were interesting. I read the whole ACOTAR series first so I find myself comparing TOG to ACOTAR. The narrator’s performance took me out of the story a lot. Her male voices specifically were kind of silly and her interpretation of how characters were speaking were much more dramatic than my own head voice while reading. It was distracting.

Wasn’t a fan of the narrators performance
