Fern is a Seminole Indian of The Wind Clan. She is blessed with the ability to speak with animals, just as Theo does. She is also a runaway and a thief. Pretty is a three-foot-long iguana who sleeps with one eye open and is Fern's constant companion. Ma is the mother of gator wranglers. She murdered her husband. Xander Khan is an assassin from Afghanistan. (They are the good guys!) Together they will team up with Theo and his crew to face their enemies.
They will be pitted against the obsessive scheming of Theo's old nemesis, Karl Snell, along with his stone-cold sister, Gerda, and the patriarch of the Snell family, Herman. Theo and his friends will work together to thwart their evil plans. Will they succeed?
The intrepid alliance will also face the legend of The Big Bad. Is he real, or just a myth? Is there only one, or are there many? Is there a Big Bad that lives inside us all? Can The Big Bad be defeated? These are the questions our heroes must answer.
