Four hundred years ago, my ancestor led an uprising against the Witch’s Council.
And failed miserably.
Now her descendants and those of her supporters must serve as Wardens to help protect witch-kind, though we’re relegated to being second best and the first ones thrown into danger. The Disgraced, as we’re called, are meant to suck it up and be grateful.
But there’s too much of my ancestor in me to bow to any witch, no matter that I’m Disgraced and an omega. When I enroll in war college to learn to do my duty as a Disgraced Warden and witch omega, I have a feeling that I’m not going to be very popular with my superiors. Wanted dual narration
Disgraced. Arsena Graves is the last in a bloodline of disgraced witches. Generations ago, her ancestor led an uprising against the witch’s council, and her family and those that followed her ancestor have paid the price. Having come of age, she is enrolled in war college to train as a warden for the protection of other witches. Another price to pay. Sen knows her time will be difficult and not only because of her last name. She is identical to her notorious ancestor and carries her fire talent and gift. The only difference is Sen is an Omega, not an Alpha. Her very presence inspires fear and anger, except with a few. However, Sen is not one to back down from a challenge. She’s determined to make her own way regardless of her name, her face, or her inherited talents.
The world-building was excellent, and the historical and political undertones were appreciated. They added a level of depth to a paranormal academy RH. Sen was a bit prickly for me, but I’m hoping she will become a little less so as she finds support and friendship in her coven. I do like the protective streak she has for the disgraced or bullied. And I love her strategic mind. Lore, Zyair, and Zeph are nearly interchangeable for me. I didn’t instantly fall in love with any of them. Her relationship with Lir was not so clear-cut but is my favorite of these four. I prefer a little tension. It makes the final relationship more rewarding. I was intrigued by both of the older wardens. I can’t tell if they will be part of the coven but I am hopeful. Overall, I found this completely entertaining. I was captivated from the beginning and look forward to more.
Allyson Voller narrated and did a fantastic job with the characters giving them each their own voice. I would have preferred dual narration since it’s difficult for a narrator to voice the opposite sex. It would have elevated the story by adding a male narrator.

Great start to this world!
The world building in this audiobook was phenomenal and I cannot wait for the next one! The powers the characters had, the underlying plot, and the relationship growing and building between the main character and her loves was perfect. I love not knowing who is going to be added next in this group (love interest wise). The one thing I didnt really get from this one was OV but maybe more in book 2, we shall see.

Entertaining
I really enjoyed this story. This storyline is entertaining and the characters are great. This is a great introduction into this witchy omegaverse. This is my first time reading/listening to AJ Merlin and I can't wait for more. Allyson Voller did a great job bring this story to life. I'm excited to see what happens next.

Witchy Omegaverse RH/Poly Romance
The Sight of Flames by AJ Merlin is a witchy omegaverse RH/poly romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Allyson Voller. This is the first book in the Disgraced Magic series.
I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed how the book was told from only Arsena's point of view.
I can't wait for the next book in the series to be announced so I can get more of Arsena and her coven.
Allyson did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like omegaverse romances, reverse harem romances, poly romances, or paranormal romances.

The Sight of Flames
This is the first book in the Disgraced Magic series. I love AJ Merlin’s writing. I loved the double entendres of the characters names. This was the first book I have listened to that was about witches and an Omegaverse. Each witch is a certain elemental witch and also one of the following: Alpha, Beta, or Omega. The witches also could be from a Disgraced Witch line. I really enjoyed the development in this magic system. I can’t wait for the next book! Allyson Voller did a good job narrating this book.

A fave PRN by AJ
Every time I think AJ Merlin can’t top her last book, I’m pleasantly surprised. I loved this first book in the Disgraced Magic series, the layers of world-building and character development were so great and I loved getting to know Arsena and the guys around her.
The way that magic behaves in this world is so fun, and I always love a fated mate situation. Who doesn’t?! Plus some forced proximity and enemies-to-lovers? I’m hoping there’s so much more to come in this series because I want it all!
I would have loved some more masculine tones for Sen’s amazing guys, but I still loved it.

Exciting
I listened via audio and I’m not over found of the boys voices but you know some people would like them.
4 star listen, I liked this fmc she’s enjoyable, feisty and full of passion.
I’m not overly found of the love interests because I can’t get my head around their relationships. I just don’t really get them. Also didn’t like most male voices.
I am looking forward to continuing this series and it ends in a great hook.
Witch series with troupe of alpha beta omega format. A little smutty but not overly so. Academy troupe but the characters start older at 21 ish which I found slightly off for first year students.

Not what I was expecting at all!
What a wonderful story! I am not usually a fan of witches story’s. They just are always so sneaky. Anyway this one really drew me in and I loved it all! The storyline is inventive. I loved the world this author built. The characters are plentiful! The different types of witches as well as the whole alpha/beta/omega are what makes this different.
Sadly this does end in a cliffhanger just as done things start happening. Whaaa!
I did listen to this on audio. Allyson Voller is the narrator. She does a wonderful job with the plethora of characters! I look forward to see what happens next
