About this listen

Growing up, I had nothing but my good grades and them: the Vanguard brothers.

They are the golden boys of our school, destined to be the alphas of our pack. They’re possessive, scaring away everyone else who might get close to me—until the night of their first shift. I’d been told over and over I could never be their mate, but the boy’s wolves had other ideas….

So, I’m whisked away, told to forget them—and I do, right up until they walk in through my door, telling me all the things I’d secretly dreamed of: that I’m their fated mate and that they refuse to settle for anyone else. But I’m forced to push them away.

Why? Because their parents were right to send me away. I’ll never be what they need me to be, but these guys? Back then, they never knew how to take no for an answer, and now they’re coming for me, whether I’m ready or not.

Such a good audio

This one is done in duet. I loved the narrators. I had read the book before and it is a favorite. It translated to audio perfectly. This story has some serious angst but oh the payoff. Riley is a force to be reckoned with and I loved how the guys supported her at every turn.

Great Story

Loved the interesting storyline. Unique in its science based take on the alpha/omega relationship. Has characters you care about. I enjoyed the narrator's accent. Lead authenticity to the setting of the story. Will definitely read more of Sam Hall's books!

Childhood Friends to Lovers in Adulthood

Both narrators did a phenomenal job for each characters. I love the dual narration. I love the childhood storyline of their first love. But being deceived by their parents, thinking they weren’t meant to be. Fast-forward a couple of years to adulthood, they reunite again, trying to rekindle with their sweet beta. Their beta goes through some changes after viewing with her alphas. Crazy turn of events that need to roller coaster of emotions. The smut in this book was phenomenal 10 out of 10. Can’t wait for the next book!

Another good book to the series

I read book 3 first liking a different spin on FMC. This one was just as good. A building relationship instead of instead love, attachment, or attraction. It is worth the read or listen or both.

Starts slow then wow

it took me several times coming back to the story to read it and if it hadn’t been a series, I don’t think I would have but I hoped that it would get better the farther I read. Within a few chapters I was hooked by the end and wishing it had more of the story to go. I would’ve loved to found out the next beta and Omega story. If that story is not finished somewhere, please finish it but for myself, I’m going looking for that next book. UPDATE. I found the next book. Thank you Sam Hall !you have become someone I will continue to watch for your books.

Wolf Shifter Omegaverse + Humor + Science

This audiobook was so good! The characters were relatable and detailed enough to be believable. The explanations for genes being turned off, the effect of hormones as well as physical touch were so evocative and essentially true to science as it is currently known.
The BFF woman character was so awesome and hilarious. She really looked after and out for the main character.
Additionally, I found the psychological effects fascinating. It really makes you think about some of the things kids hear from people they love and respect that are detrimental in the long term, even if they were not intended as such.
I got so invested in the characters that I found myself wanting to know even more about the past interactions.
And I love how the narrators really differentiate between the characters and make them come alive in my imagination. Bonus points for the random Aussie terms - it just adds to the fun!
