About this listen

With Light and Shadow completing the Path of Ascension, three foreign Great Powers equal to the Empire in power have declared war. Thankfully they aren't alone but with only one ally in their corner their best hope is to fight for a close loss. That is unless they can produce another miracle Ascender in time to turn the tides of war.

Can Matt, Liz, and Aster do what it takes to reach Tier 25 and finish the Path in time? Will it be enough?

Don't miss Book 9 of this action-packed fantasy adventure that blends everything you love about LitRPG with Xianxia.

About the series: This is a mix between LitRPG and Xianxia. It's like a car that looks like a LitRPG with dungeons and skills, but the interior and engine are all Xianxia. It features a magic system and progression system that are logically and internally consistent, as well as realistic fight scenes and a rational MC.

I loved it another great book to the series just wished a bit more combat and fights scenes. But I see where the book went and I loved the set up for the next book where violence should be a good part of it hopefully.

Loved it absolutely amazing

J.S. Arquin does a great job as always, and C. Mantis brings the arc to a close very well.

the end of a great arc

I’m a big fan of the series, but this book felt like it had a lot of filler. And substantially more unnecessary swearing while it got better towards the end, the first half was not interesting enough unfortunately

Mostly meh

This series keeps delivering on its promises. There are few series in prog lit that can compete with PoA on the follow through on both foreshadowing and the long term importance of a large cast of characters.

More of the good stuff

I really like the book. But at one point it says they tier up, and then says that someone that is two tiers below them is only a teir below them. At another point it says that a character has an image but then says they claimed there anchor instead of there image, but then goes to says that they still have there anchor to claim. Again, I did enjoy the book, but these things popped out to me. I went back over those parts to see if I misunderstood, but it doesn't seem that way. So it has those two inconveniences or bad wordings that I found.

A few inconsistencies or bad wording

I enjoyed this series completion better than most. There were only a few minor bulls in the otherwise great conclusion.

an overall great conclusion

Very strong start to the war. it was also really interesting to see Matt adjusting to being a royal. great to have Aster back, too.
