About this listen
Atop this mountain are the remains of a stone fort. Some say they are the ruins of an ancient religion. The Cherokee say it was there long before they arrived, which would have been before the tenth or eleventh century. They believe these ruins were built by the Moon Eyed people. Others believe a Welsh explorer named Madoc built them. Madoc set sail for a new land to the west of Cymry, later the country of Wales, in 1175 AD. No one ever heard from him again. There is also the belief that the Mayans from South America built them. Truth be told, no one really knows how this mysterious structure came to be.
This is the story of Fort Mountain. Named after these ruins. In the Legend of Fort Mountain, you will encounter, Cedall, a Welsh explorer. He was part of Madoc’s second group destined for this new land. Among his people are Peredur and his son and daughter. Peredur is a healer, versed in herbs and potions, whose roots secretly date back to the Druids. You will find Danuwoa, the chief of a Cherokee tribe and Saloso his rival, a chief from a tribe across the mountains.
And then you will meet Meylir, Cedall’s son, and Leoite, the daughter of Danuwoa. Both innocents in a clash of cultures, who fall into a forbidden love.
