About this listen

The full release of The Last Town serial, with new original content!

It started in the Middle East. A flu-like plague that infected thousands and killed roughly 10 percent of its victims. Those who died awoke once again, but they were no longer among the living - they came back as soulless, carnivorous corpses who desired only one thing: to feed on living human flesh.

As the infection spread, across Europe and the rest of the globe, cities were overwhelmed. Nations fell. Humanity flickered like a candle flame in the wind.

In the United States: the nation's great cities are becoming hunting grounds. New York, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles.... All are falling victim to hordes of shambling dead who want only one thing: to devour the living.

Single Tree, California, is a small resort town in Inyo County. Between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, it's easy to overlook. And that's exactly what the citizens of Single Tree want, for the stenches and those fleeing them to ignore the town long enough for it to be transformed into a desert fortress at the foot of Mount Whitney.

But time is not on their side. Not only do they have to worry about the dead.... they have to fear the living.

Suspense filled listen.

If you could sum up The Last Town in three words, what would they be?

Anxiety raising book!

What did you like best about this story?

The unselfishness of one of the main characters is the better part of the book.

Have you listened to any of Lee Alan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first time listening to Lee Alan so I could not give an accurate compare.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Escape towards hope and a future.

Great story!!!

The narration was passable but not great. The story is about scrambling to save what you can, but Zombies never get tired.

Excellent

One of the best Zombie genre books if you like a fast pace and witty, believable dialogue. Especially from a police/military perspective.

Decent at best.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't very good either. Had a good story for the most part but characters and dialog are equivalent to a made for tv movie.

Racist, homophonic,Democrat hating

Ok after reading this I can see where this book could be distasteful for a black female immigrant like myself. Pity the author used the stereotypical left leaning characters to illustrate his point of view. Pity because the plot could have been a good one despite the multitude of holes. I would hope at the end of the world we could overlook our politics and come together.

Character development was fair but why characterize the women as either sluts weaklings or fat. That tells me our fair author is also misogynistic.

Lots of people thought the narrator was lacking but I loved him
