About this listen
In our culture, there is a premium placed on finding our passion, as though somehow once we've found it, our lives will finally start to come together as we've always imagined. We've held onto these beliefs about passion and have made daily and even life-changing decisions based on the principle of following our passion.
Is passion important in living a fulfilled life? Absolutely. But as the famous adage goes, it's not the things that you don't know that hurt you, it's the things you think are true that aren't that really mess you up.
Unfortunately, there are a number of beliefs we have about trying to find our passion that are creating more questions, frustrations and confusion in our lives. Of course, something in these beliefs must be true (or they wouldn't resonate with us so strongly), but how do we separate fact from delusion? Instead of hoping to find a life of passion, how do we create a life we are passionate about living?
The Delusion of Passion: Why Millennials Struggle to Find Success was written to clarify truth from delusion in our commonly held beliefs about passion, and to put people in the driver's seat, creating a life they are passionate about living.

Do you ride the escalator or do you take the stairs? No matter how you define success, it always requires one thing: self-discipline. But as popular speaker and strategist Rory Vaden explains, we live in an "escalator world", one that's filled with shortcuts, quick fixes, and distractions that make it all too easy to slide into procrastination, compromise, and mediocrity. What seems like an easier path is really much harder in the end - and, most important, it won't take you where you want to go.

I needed to hear the 1% deviation explanation
The narrator sounded like two different people at times, which confused me because only one narrator is listed, but it could totally just be me. Other than that, the narrator(s), were good. Not annoyingly over enthusiastic or sleepily boring with the tone of voice and inflections, which made for an easy listen, even at 1.5x the speed.
The 1st half of this audiobook held my attention, but the 2nd half felt like filler materials. I’m guessing it’s because I’ve heard/learned a lot of what was covered in the 2nd half through life experiences as I got older. I still think this is a great audiobook, and I’ll definitely be listening to it again!

Amazing!!! Very Practical!!!
This book is for anyone of any generation who wants to move forward to the next level. I love the thought process that this book has. It makes you think & gives you a different perspective!
I have meet Mark Nathan & his wife Meredith a few times at business success conferences. They are both incredible entrepreneurs, speakers, & influencers. They practice what they preach. Everything Mark says is exactly what he’s personally done. He’s sowed good seed into myself as well as tens of thousands of others globally. He’s traveled all over the world spreading a positive message & adding value. He’s even taught courses that I’ve taken. I’ve learned so much from him. I appreciate his hard work to bless others! Way to go Mark!
