About this listen
The first in the history of nations,
That succeeded solely
By the waving of flags.”
Join me as I embark on and reflect upon a powerful journey from shock and anxiety to struggle and victory.
This book is for anyone who values their freedom and refuses to let a regime infringe upon their fundamental rights. Through non-violent protest, unity, and determination, we, the people, achieved our goal. The current Israeli battle against the government’s attack on the judiciary proves it.
My name is Arie Ruttenberg, and I'm a seasoned media professional. I’ve been active in Israeli politics since 1980, contributing to campaigns for Prime Ministers Menachem Begin, Shimon Peres, and Yitzhak Rabin. I participated week in and week out in the largest public demonstrations in Israeli history. This book chronicles my perspective as a witness to my people’s rise to defend their country and their liberty.

Turning Politics into Poetry
Arie Rutenburg is an Unconventional Genius. He is the creative mind behind some of Israel’s most memorable political and commercial campaigns. He is a true patriot, a man who was severely injured in the army - literally gave blood for his country.
This is a unique and unusual piece of writing—something of a cross between a poetry book and a long op-ed. providing intensely personal snap shots of what has been going in Israel in the past few years. It evokes contradictory emotions, managing to be both funny and sad. It will leave you feeling depressed, optimistic, and confused—all at once—in the way that only great books can.
