About this listen

A frozen lake…Cold-Blooded Murder.

A powerful man is found dead in his fish house on a frozen Minnesota lake, murdered, stabbed to death. His employees, family, and the local sheriff, all seem happy to have him gone - all except his personal assistant. With his death she is now forced to do something she thought she would never have to do, reveal secrets that will destroy the careers and lives of many - including a man set on being the next governor of the state.

Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Agent Danny Carlisle has been given the assignment, her first as a lead agent, and she and her partner soon find they have too many suspects and too little evidence. But someone is doing them a favor, narrowing down their list of suspects by killing them off. The snow and bodies in Duluth accumulate, and Carlisle's boss is pushing her to find who is doing the killing, someone who seems to know her every move.

Not a VV fan at all

The story may have been just fine, but I was so distracted by the voice. I will not be listening to any other VV books.

Avoid virtual voice

I very much dislike virtual voice. The inflections are way off. I don’t like it .

voice isn't ready quite yet

disliked the AI voice, doesn't distinguish between male and female. should listen to Nora Nagle for training,/learning. it was ok, but only because it was free to listen. the story was great!

I really liked the main character. She's strong, smart and feminine

I thought the plot was interesting, with enough twists and turns to be realistic

Needed better proff reading

Mistakes stood out, especially the black Cadillac Escalade that turned into a truck two times on the same date in chapter 23

The edge of winter

The Ai reading is awful. It does not have the ability to show emotion through tone. It ruins this story. Anyone could have read this better.

The Total Lackluster of the Narration

I simply could not listen through to the end. The narration lacked warmth and demonstrated no comprehension of what was being narrated. The words were simply spoken as though the words before gave no hint to the storyline itself. It didn’t drone. It just was…devoid of that human touch. I hope this isn’t the future for narration.
