***
OK, halfway through now and the story has improved markedly. Thank goodness.
***
Finished it, and on balance it is OK, but not as enjoyable or engaging as the two previous novels.
Quality really dropped on this one.

dispatched with the hounds, then they ended up going south. The track to the south was an adventure in itself. Del was looking for the person she wanted to kill but yet they learn some other interesting things about why all the tribes were gathering together in one place in the desert. I am excited to read the next book of the series.

Downside - The author has trouble getting through some of the human dialogue. In several sections the lead characters banter back and forth in a structure and content that reminds me of a middle school or high school short story…a little painful to get through but the storyline is unique enough to keep me onboard. It was almost laborious enough for me to stop reading/listening and walk away. But applause for the great storyline.
Good storyline but execution is a little rough
