About this listen
Darkness covers the north since the black mage has begun his assault on the kingdom of Neroche. Legend has it that only the two magical swords held by Neroche's king can defeat the mage. Now the fate of the Nine Kingdoms rests in the hands of a woman destined to wield one of those blades....
In this land of dragons and mages, warrior maids, and magical swords, nothing is as it seems. And Morgan will find that the magic in her blood brings her troubles she cannot face with a sword - and a love more powerful than she has ever imagined.

Judith Hampton was as beautiful as she was proud and loyal. Her dear Scottish friend from childhood was about to give birth, and Judith had promised to be at her side. Everyone dreams of marrying a prince - except for me. I am nothing more than a pawn in my adoptive mother's diabolical plot against the seven kingdoms. I was the chosen tool, her sharpened blade that would cut the deepest into the heart of the kingdom of Baist. But like all deadly weapons, my wedding is two-edged sword that could cost me my soul. For I am Rosalie, one of the adopted daughters of Lady Eville, and it is my duty to enter into a loveless and hate-filled marriage with the narcissistic Crown Prince of Baist.

As a child, Selene was left at the foot of the White Tower—given to the sorceresses who train those with magic. Her life has been spent honing her powers. But she can't fully join their ranks until she fulfills a single, impossible task: bring the Demon King, Lust, to his knees. Lust has ruled his kingdom for centuries. He is the reason his people live without remorse and indulge in their senses. Life is mundane and boring… until he runs into a dark-haired enchantress with eyes the color of the night sky. With one whispered sentence, she changes everything. I'm the beginning of something new.

I love Miach and was really looking forward to him being brought to life in audio, but the narration was terrible. The narrator's voice is flat and stilted and mostly emotionless. She pauses in the middle of every sentence which makers it hard to listen to. I love the story so I finished it anyway. I've read the books numerous times because I love visiting this world, but I don't think I'll be able to listen to this a second time.
I really hope the narration is better for the second book.
One of my favorite series, but terrible narration
