About this listen
On a covert mission north of the frontier, Lieutenant Commander Nathan Telford finds every escape route to freedom blocked by a massive Pruessen armada. With a seemingly endless number of enemy resources marshaled against him, he must employ all of his skills if he is ever to see his home again.
A vengeful Pruessen security officer dogs his every move, making his chances of escape bleak.
Things go from bad to worse when an enemy from his past is assigned to track him down. Orson is as obsessed as any individual can be with Nathan's capture. He has developed skills since their last encounter that Nathan is powerless to counteract.
Nathan's cold-blooded pragmatism has gotten him out of bad fixes in the past. Above all, he is an accomplished survivor, but this time does he have the skills to overcome such insurmountable odds?

Story
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy?

Story
The Silicate War has been over for 15 years, and the tension among the dominant galactic races is growing. Many fear that the Umblegarri, the ancient alien race that ushered humanity into the interstellar galactic community during the Silicate War, have been targeted for conquest by the Crax and their allies. It's no longer speculation. The invasion is underway and Kra finds himself strapped to a hospital bed, critically injured and surrounded by hostile corporate lawyers, high-ranking military and intelligence officials, ambitious members of the criminal justice apparatus, and an Umbelgarri diplomat.

Great Book Poor Oration
The best way to ruin a great series? Let Ben Eastman give the performance... his whiney monotone voice ruined everything that had come before, a true shame.

Worst narration ever
I highly recommend you read this book on Kindle. Or a paperback even. I actually listened to the entire book in spite of its horrible narration. It’s cartoonish. I already purchased the next book and noticed it has the same narrator. I hope that I can suffer through it without wanting to commit the book to the trash bin.
It’s amazing how The narration affects the quality of a book. Bad near ration, such as this book as, really distracted from an otherwise excellent story.

Narration was terrible
Good story, I liked the first two installments. I could barely stand this one because of the "voice actor".
Unfortunately he narrates the next book in the series too and I refuse to suffer through it.

Mr Van Dreisen reads violent literature.
If you ever watched Bevis and Butthead in the 90's you know the reference. Mr Eastman sounds disappointed in the writers inability to find a peaceful solution every time there is action.

Great story. Horrible narration
This is the third book in the series with the third narrator. Book 1 was great. Book 2 narration was passable. This one was down right awful. Im 10 min into it and giving up. Ill just read it on my Kindle.
