About this listen
Sara Pascoe explores our modern social world though theories of evolutionary psychology and more.
In a brand new stand up show recorded in front of live audiences in museums, Sara asks how our past influences our modern lives, and how come we can still get emotionally hijacked by our primitive emotions?
Sara says: "I've been obsessing about the ape behaviours visible in our 'civilised' human interactions for nearly as long as I've been plotting to get a Radio 4 series. I'm thrilled that I've been given the opportunity to use the latter to explore the former - I'm off to eat lice out of friends' fur to celebrate."

Story
Why do some women still expect men to buy their dinner? Why do some men feel depressed after masturbating? What the hell is going on with porn? Comedian Sara Pascoe explores the complex connections between sex, power and money. This audiobook is a thoughtful and entertaining journey through anatomy and arousal, dating and sex work, animals and technology, and Pascoe makes our most baffling human behaviours less mysterious.

Story
Deep in Essex and her own thoughts, Sophie had a feeling something was going to happen and then it did. Chris has entered the pub and re-entered her life after Sophie had finally stopped thinking about him and regretting what she'd done. Sophie has a chance at creating a new ending and paying off her emotional debts (if not her financial ones). All she has to do is act exactly like a normal, well-adjusted person and not say any of her inner monologue out loud. If she can suppress her paranoia, pornographic visualisations and lying maybe she'll even end up getting the guy she wants?

Story
At last, the definitive audiobook about perhaps the best cabin crew dramedy ever filmed: View from the Top starring Gwyneth Paltrow. In Ayoade on Top, Richard Ayoade, perhaps one of the most 'insubstantial' people of our age, takes us on a journey from Peckham to Paris by way of Nevada and other places we don't care about. It's a journey deep within, in a way that's respectful and non-invasive; a journey for which we will all pay a heavy price, even if you've waited for the smaller paperback edition. Ayoade argues for the canonisation of this brutal masterpiece.

funny, challenging
Sarah is a genuinely funny comic. I appreciated mixing social science with humor. The last episode fell a little short, but she’s tackling a difficult concept so it’s understandable. I look forward to finding other comedy of hers.
Note: it feels weird putting in reviews for performance and story when she is a comic - I think of it all as one experience.

Very Funny
Every time I see or hear from Sara I am struck by just how bright and witty she is. I really enjoyed this, she's one of the funniest modern British comedians and I would happily recommend it to others and would listen to pretty much anything she records in the future too. Unless it's a Tribute to Lenny Henry... we all have limits.

Bravo! Kudos to Sara!
I salute Sara and everything she’s been through that enabled her to become who she is today! Sara is brilliant and clever of course. Yet, it is her decency that is so profound and relevant and necessary and heartening! Sara’s body of work need be mandatory curriculum in every middle and high and undergraduate school. Thank you Sara Pascoe!
