About this listen
From the author of The Worlds of Jack Lawson comes this newest fantasy tale of love and evil.
Sandy is lonely.
At school she has only one friend. Her father died when she was very young and she has no siblings. It's just her and a mother who resents her for making her a single mother, despite the fact that Sandy had nothing to do with her father's death.
Sandy's only escape is her daily walk in the woods behind her home. It brings her comfort and solace. Until one day when she trips, hits her head and has a vision of being tied up by a terrible witch woman called Shaitana. On that occasion she is rescued by a knight in shining armor, called Roland. He tells her that he and the witch are in a desperate struggle for Sandy’s very soul.
She's sure it was all just a hallucination from her head injury. Only she keeps encountering Roland in the woods and he provides her comfort, friendship and protection - even if he is just imaginary.
But when Sandy faces a very real threat in the very real world, Roland isn't there - if he ever really was to begin with. She'll have to learn to save herself if she's ever going to be truly happy.
