About this listen

Ever wonder what your best life or destiny could be--the secret to ultimate happiness? Imagine you find it but then realize hard work and difficult decisions have to be made to obtain it. What would you do? Reaching for the Brightest Star is based on the true story of Kyle Dane's mother, former Hollywood actress Dana Kimmell, who made a courageous choice to walk away from a successful, life-long career dream to instead reach for a different kind of star-life by following the celestial light of Jesus Christ. She tells how the opposition and hardships she faced were overshadowed by incredible blessings from God that brightened her life beyond what anything else ever did or could.

In a world with increasing pressure to abandon good morals and values, and rising difficulty to find happiness, this timeless story is a must-read that offers guidance through the darkness. Looking through the lens of Dana's unique experience reveals the glorious truth about your own divine identity, self-worth, and potential as a beloved child of God. Your best and brightest destiny of heavenly happiness awaits. May Dana's memoir give you courage to reach for it, no matter the challenges of the journey.

Never give up. Keep reaching up.

REVIEW:
-Director Lyman Dayton (Where the Red Fern Grows):
“Dana Kimmell Anderson is a remarkable woman. Kyle has beautifully tracked his mom's life through his recent offering Reaching for the BRIGHTEST STAR! There is a fitting quote that goes something like this: ‘Heed not the plaudits of man. Fame and fortune are fickle. Men soon forget. God never forgets.’ After cherishing my own friendship from so many years ago...and after reading Brightest Star, I believe Dana better understands the eternal meaning of the quote better than anyone I know.”

Uplifting

This story was very uplifting, best word to describe it. It is based on the true story of Hollywood actress Dana Kimmell joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints…a nice contrast to the negative LDS press from Hollywood and Hulu productions.
