About this listen
Inside Omnibus Six are two novellas, a short story, and an exclusive vignette, which is found nowhere else.
Included are:
The Yew Alley Ghost, a novella wherein Holmes is summoned by a former client to an estate in Suffolk, long said to be the scene of hauntings, and from which a child obsessed with finding a legendary ghost, has vanished without a trace in the darkness of night….
The Adventure of the Artful Dodger sees Dickens’ infamous child thief return to London in old age, seeking Holmes’ aid in rooting out a new menace on the streets, a mysterious foe, who, like Fagin long ago, recruits innocent children into a life of crime….
The Twice Murdered Man is a novella which presents one of the oddest cases ever to be brought to Baker Street, as a woman tells of her murdered husband returning home days after his funeral, only to be slain a second time in an identical manner, within hours of his arrival.
A Rainy Evening At Baker Street is a vignette found only in this collection, and presents a gathering around the fire at 221B Baker Street, on a rainy evening, as Dr. and Mrs. Watson, and Mrs. Hudson join Sherlock Holmes in contemplating the likely solution to a number of beguiling real world mysteries, such as the Mary Celeste, and the peculiar “Dancing Plague” of Tudor times.
It is the sincere hope of author C. Thorne that fans of Sherlock Holmes will enjoy the tales collected in Omnibus Six every bit as much as he did writing it!
