Not only did author Holly Butler craft a compelling story full of heartache and redemption, but she also narrated this tale, making the story come to life in a cinematic way. I can see this as a feature film or series.

The character Kelly struggles through her travails with men, but she ultimately triumphs. The story takes place in the 90s, prior to the Me Too Movement, and as an older male listening to this, I found myself questioning my own behavior back in the day. I found the story to be fast paced and compelling. Brava!

I related to the story probably because my life before receiving a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ was on the same line as Kelley. I found myself saying to Kelly as I was listening to her reading “oh no don’t do that”or things like “that’s stupid don’t do that” or “oh my god here she goes again” LOL! And all the time relating to my life before Christ.
I did not care for the cursing language and for the erotic explanations of her love life but I do understand why it was in there. And I know it’s only because I have not used cursing words or read anything like this since 1979.
I would recommend this book to women who are lost and trying to finagle their way through their love lives. Get some wisdom and with wisdom get understanding…. Wise up - take control of your emotions and hormones. Somethings never change in life - relationships between men and women girls and boys.
I believe that Holly Butler did good job and want to thank her for sharing about her life, her experiences and baring her soul to her readers in this new endeavor of hers.

I am an avid audible book listener. What I find interesting in listening is the reader plays a huge part. This book is read by the author who was a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. The giggle the breathy voice the words just conjure up so much. I highly recommend this book as a great audible book and probably a great page turner if you happen to be reading it in book form. Couch between the pages is a lot of wisdom inside challenges on our beliefs about love sex being excepted being valued being loved. Thank you very much

Reflections on listening to the book me myself and Maryland

If there ever was a book I wanted to return it was this! It’s a book about an emotional and sexual cripple. Everything is someone else’s fault. She bounces from man to man and falls for them in a day or so even though one guy has told her in advance there was no relationship hope for them , just sex! The overly descriptive sex acts were a turn-off I didn’t see the need for that. Marilyn’s so called “quotes” pop up throughout the narrative but it doesn’t add to this mess of a book. Well this is just my opinion.

Ugh….
