About this listen

Fourth in the "flawless" (The Reading Café) New York Times best-selling series from the author of Vision in Silver.

For centuries, the Others and humans have lived side by side in uneasy peace. But when humankind oversteps its bounds, the Others will have to decide how much humanity they're willing to tolerate - both within themselves and within their community....

Since the Others allied themselves with the cassandra sangue, the fragile yet powerful human blood prophets who were being exploited by their own kind, the delicate dynamic between humans and Others changed. Some, like Simon Wolfgard, wolf shifter and leader of the Lakeside Courtyard, and blood prophet Meg Corbyn see the new closer companionship as beneficial - both personally and practically.

But not everyone is convinced. A group of radical humans is seeking to usurp land through a series of violent attacks on the Others. What they don't realize is that there are older and more dangerous forces than shifters and vampires protecting the land that belongs to the Others - and those forces are willing to do whatever is necessary to protect what is theirs....

First of all, I love Anne BIshop's the Others Series because of the unique and very interesting POVs that the Others present. You know they are a totally different species and you know that they can eat you. But the author really made me see things from their perspectives (YEAH, HUMAN STUPIDITY is ETERNAL).

Yes. There are times in this book where the listener would get really angry at annoyed at those HFL sympathizers especially for hurting other people and the Others. But you also get times where you really feel touched about Other-Human interactions. Particularly, those in which they are cooperating.

So basically, this book retains all the qualities and elements you loved in the first three books. 1.) Very funny human-Other interactions 2.) Villains Getting their comeuppance 3.) No cliffhangers and 4.) the book ends in a hopeful note

So Go and Read/Listen to this story!

The book was interesting and I enjoyed it. However, the narrator's style of reading was irritating and made it difficult to stay in the world of the book. This is supposed to be a series about some pretty scary creatures. But this narrator managed to make them seem about as real and scary as the big bad Wolf. She read as if she were reading a fairy tale to a small child - with a saccharine voice and sing song inflections that made me roll my eyes. I kept expecting her to say "isn't this thrilling, children?" So I will won't buy next book in audible form if this narrator still reads.

Good story, children's narrator

Anne Bishop is probably my favorite author and this book did not disappoint. I think the narrator did a wonderful job with the voices and I look forward to listening to her other books on Audible.

This book is chock full of action! You feel the anger, the fear and even the joy at of the characters on their journey. I didn't want to put it down!
As usual the narrator, Alexandra Harris was great.
I've only recently discovered this series. In a month I devoured the entire series, it is that good!
I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

The best one yet in the series

Great book & for the most part Alexandria Harris does a good job. There are a few characters that I have trouble telling the difference between their voices but still a very good listen!

Great story

I have waited so long for this booka and it didn't disappoint. The Elders were a great POV addition to the story. There were parts where I felt as though I wanted more of the original characters but I do understand why Anne wrote the story like she did. Cannot wait for the next book! 😀

Another Great Book

I really enjoy this series, and I've grow really fond of Alexandra Harris. The pacing is good, and other than the weird "arooooo"'s (they did not translate well from written to spoken), it was well acted. I am biased though, since I've been a huge Anne Bishop fan for decades.

Love this series

I gave it a rating of PG-13 because it is very violent. It is not due to any of d the sexy switch. It has none and I'm happy with that out of the way. Let me tell you about this book. It is one in a series. I think book in the series that has the most action the most explanation. Of the world itself. It can be violent. People do die in horrific Mand if it were a movie. It would be very bloody. Pick up John Wick, but quit from dust to dawn type blood bath. Did you have it? There are people getting shot. There are people getting their head. It's jumped off. There are people getting a mixed cut off. It is violent but it's not for violence's sake. Understand you understand the reasoning behind how it happens. And you must admit that if we lived in the world that existed on this level of responsibility to wildlife. It might be a better place. I'm just saying and for all you. People who'd like to read booked and you might want it to be slightly political. Well, let's think of it like this. They have a group of characters that belong to a radical human first and always type mentality. And you see how that works out for them. I'm just saying read the book. Enjoy it, it does have some plot holes. I think that the writer might have paid more attention to her other books. The ones about magic and demons and things like that more so than this one. However, I love this series better. One criticism, big criticism. I wish it was dramatized. That's all because the narrator is okay. But she's not the best and I wish if it wasn't dramatized production. Maybe had 2 readers, one for the male voices, 1 for the female perspective. That's just me now, if you got to the end of this. Thank you.If you didn't , that'should be , is this piece out love to the world
