I loved this book. Took me a minute to get used to a male narrator. But it was a great listen. Highly recommended. Anything by this author is fantastic!

I love Julie Klassen
my only complaint would be getting used to the man's voice...my first make reader...it took a little while to get used to because his pitch would drop low and I couldn't understand him...by the middle of the book I was used to it and really enjoyed it ....book was awesome!

Nicely done!
Simon Prebble's performance is well done. He gives voice to all the characters well. His voice is also soothing to the ear.

Ready to read my next Klassen!
Julie Klassen glides her readers in a sustained pendulum of tension and relief through her character's choices and their outcomes. Her brilliant character depictions prove by virtue of their contrast the sublimity of a human soul unmarred by bitterness and beautified through self-sacrifice. Klassen's poinant analogy of the milkweed reaches its culmination in its final lines, eliciting from her readers a long held sigh of literary satisfaction.

Very enjoyable
Women in the 1800s really went through it. Very realistic story of how many barriers a woman had to face at that time. Anti depressants (of some kind) must have been very popular.
