About this listen
The attic was stuffy and cramped, filled with boxes and old furniture that had long since been forgotten. But as I made my way through the clutter, my eyes fixed on a small wooden trunk sitting in the corner. It had belonged to my sister before she passed away.
Curiosity got the better of me, and I pulled the trunk out from under a pile of old blankets. As I lifted the lid, I saw that it was filled with her old belongings - clothes, jewelry, and a stack of old books. But the thing that caught my attention was a small, leather-bound diary tucked away in the corner.
I recognized my sister's handwriting immediately, and as I flipped through the pages, I realized that it was a record of her experiences during a two-year period of her life. The book was titled "Entanglement, Elusive Pastime," and I was immediately intrigued by the enigmatic title.
As I began to read, I was shocked by the events that had unfolded in my sister's life. She had always been such a loving and caring person, but the pages of her diary were filled with tales of intrigue, danger, sex, drugs, and unexpected connections. She had become entangled in a web of events that seemed almost surreal.
I also couldn't help but be struck by the idea of Six Degrees of Separation, that a chain of acquaintances can link any two people that are no more than six links long. It was fascinating to see how seemingly unrelated events could converge and impact each other. I began to understand how even the smallest actions could have far-reaching consequences.
After many long nights of typing the manuscript, I decided to self-publish the book under a pen name to protect my sister's identity, as well as those of the people involved in her story. And I wanted to publish it exactly as she had written it, – uncut and raw. So, I invite you to spend a little time, pull up a chair, settle in with a nice cup of coffee, spill a little tea, have a danish, and take a ride of a lifetime.
