A childhood favorite
Why did I love this story so much as a child? From the distance of 50 years, it was easy to see: Elizabeth’s story is a story of hope for every 10-year-old who ever felt like they didn’t fit the mold of grownups’ expectations. It’s also a story of how relationships help us discover who we really are at heart, and how that awareness can lead us into ever more satisfying connection with others. Quite an achievement for a book that is so well crafted to delight a young reader! Highly recommend.
