Everyone should read the first 2/3 of the book to gain strength to live healthy, and understand the necessity for systemic change in US health care protocols. The final 1/3 plays into stereotypes that only new agers live right, and may offend people of Jewish and Christian faith.

Dr. Means' personal stories from inside the medical-pharma-insurance system are an alarming warning to question everything an MD tells you, take charge of your own lab tests and interpretations, and what you decide will be done to your body. She describes what my wife saw when she worked as a Registered Dietitian and why she left the profession. It is stunningly corrupt that Medicare and Medicaid will not pay for even 15 minutes of diet counseling for cancer patients when it's a metabolic disease in which high blood glucose feeds cancer cells. If enough people take this guidance to heart it could somehow revolutionize the system. Listening to the stories of people misled by doctors, I am thinking about dear friends who might still be alive had they been empowered with this book to get to the root cause of their disease rather than go along with "Standard of Care". It helps you feel compassion for doctors stuck in such a corrupt system. I have a pretty good doctor--it seems like I make his day when I demand additional lab tests and refuse drugs.

Beautifully and passionately narrated (normally I don’t like the authors reading but this was wonderful!). Some uniquely shocking and disheartening observations about how broken the American healthcare system is, but overall an optimistic and empowering message. I especially liked some of the more philosophical parts about death, awe, abundance, fear, nature, etc which read almost like poetry! I hope this book gets in as many people’s hands/ears as possible.

Great book. I personally don’t like Bluetooth wearables, and have found it better for me personally to avoid almond flour and abundance of cauliflower, but everything else is solid.
