 Norman DeWeese, a man who came to be known as Dr. X, is the smartest man who ever lived . . . hands down. He has decided to devote his attention and studies to the human brain; more specifically how the brain processes and retains memories. In his research he discovers a way to retrieve a specific memory in a person’s brain; freeze it, as it were; and enable the individual to actually replace the memory with a new one. In essence, he is giving a person a second chance, the opportunity to undo a seemingly wrong decision and replace it with a new one. He decides to choose three candidates for his experiment. How will the lives of his subjects be changed . . . for the better, or will their decisions make things worse for them? Dr. X’s procedures may also change the time continuum, a fact which must be considered. How will the new decisions affect the lives of those persons closest to the Norman’s subjects?
