About this listen
A teenager goes missing in Skagway, Alaska. The stepmother claims the girl has been kidnapped, and the case is assigned to Officer Katherine Ward. She hopes the teenager has simply run off, but the girl is the daughter of a billionaire and the pressure to find her is on. The father even sends a long-time friend, Vince Nanini, to help in the search. Katherine resists Nanini’s assistance until the college boy who had been corresponding with the girl is found dead and a note pinned to the boy’s shirt triggers Katherine’s memory.
When Katherine realizes the man who kidnapped her seventeen years earlier is the same one holding the teenager, the terror of those months in captivity resurfaces. She’s pulled off the case, but she can’t let it go. Working on her own, she discovers the man who held her captive for all those months has been released from prison and has made his way to Alaska. When another girl disappears, Katherine reluctantly accepts Nanini’s help. As bodies are discovered, Katherine’s past is dragged into the open along with the terrifying memories she thought she’d buried. She must find the missing girls before it’s too late for the girls or herself.
