Story
A guy who rejects or breaks up with you should no longer exist in your life. Contacting him or allowing him to stay in touch with you will make you work harder and harder to convince him that you’re worth his love and attention, and it will compel you to play that ugly and unwinnable game called Chase-a-Man. The best way to avoid this ugly game and break his spell over you is to cut the guy off (cease all communications and interactions) for a set period of time, or in some cases, keep him cut off out of your life indefinitely.

Story
Suddenly in the spotlight, 24-year-old Hannah Brown realized that she wasn’t sure what she wanted. After years of competing in beauty pageants, and then starring on The Bachelorette and Dancing with the Stars, she had become incredibly visible. There she was, in her early twenties, with millions around the world examining and weighing in on her every decision. She found herself wondering what it would mean to live on her terms. What it would mean to stop seeking approval from others and decide - for the first time - what it was she wanted from her own life.

Story
No woman can change the reality that any man, no matter how interested or invested he may first appear, can potentially pull away and lose interest in her at some point. Although this is the reality, a woman can, in fact, change the way she deals with such situations. While you might not be able to control a man's behavior, you can control your own. Being in control of your emotions, especially when a man's behavior threatens your future with him, will make it easier for you to influence his heart and make him see you as an irreplaceable, high-value woman.

Story
So many of us feel lonely, unfulfilled, or trapped—in our roles and relationships, in cycles of self-sabotage and bad decisions, by our patterns and misguided attempts to feel happy or to feel something. According to existential psychotherapist Sara Kuburic, it doesn’t have to be so difficult. Really. The answer is found in facing ourselves—whatever version that might be, regardless of whether we like the person we see reflected back to us. It’s about accepting full responsibility for the choices and actions that create our reality.

Story
If You're In My Office, It's Already Too Late. James Sexton knows this. After dealing with over 1000 clients whose marriages have dissolved over everything from an ill-advised threesome with the nanny to the uneven division of carpool duties, he also knows all of the what- not-to-dos for couples who want to build - and consistently work to preserve - a lasting, fulfilling relationship. Described by former clients as a "courtroom gunslinger" and "the sociopath you want on your side", Sexton tells the unvarnished truth about relationships. These usually derive from dishonest communication.

What a great book with so many insights
First of all I’ll say that what drew me to this book was the title. ( I hv the habit of texting MY EX HAPPY BDAY)
I’m not a big fan of the bachelor so I immediately thought what advice can some guy who was on that show possibly have to give! But I liked it bcuz of the candid opinions and solid advice from sm1 who has had a rich dating experience. It’s definitely helpful most times to hear it from a guys perspective n it’s relieving to know that sometimes you’re not overthinking or being to picky. Your thoughts, your instincts about situations and people r valid n u should listen to them. Thank you Nick for sharing your experiences with us no matter how they could’ve have been perceived. I hope you continue to have a healthy and happy relationship!
Wish me luck w this love thx :)

Worth a Listen (or Two)
My sister recommended this book to me and I’m glad I listened. You’ll surely come across some situations in this that you’ve been in before and it’s oddly comforting to know that so many other people have been there. The advice isn’t groundbreaking, but helpful reminders that many of us probably need to hear again and again. A book to come back to for another listen if you’re going through a tough time or breakup. Or if you need a reality check/self-esteem boost. My big takeaway from listening to this book is that things are usually what they seem in relationships. If you can look at a situation objectively and leave your emotions and ego out, things are pretty clear. We often overcomplicate relationships. Stay true to your standards and non-negotiables.

Highly recommend this book.
I enjoyed listening to this book. I loved a man very much, but he didn't love me. Every few weeks finding his way back to my DM or SMS box. Conversations were trying to understand one another, all the crazy-making. Telling me that if he were only masculine and worthy enough, he would choose me.
He texted me on Thanksgiving night. I read this book a few days later and realized I was part of the problem. My ego wanted to know if he still thought about me. The flat truth was painful. I took the advice and blocked him liberally from Gmail, all social media, and my phone. I've never felt freer.
Learning to date is challenging. I appreciate the common sense and straight talk, and tips in this book. I highly recommend this read/listen.
