Story
Men and women grieve differently. Though both feel the pain and sorrow that come with losing a spouse, widowers start dating much sooner than widows - usually within the first year of their wife's passing. While there's nothing wrong with dating again that quickly, widowers often get into relationships before they're emotionally ready to take that step. That causes problems for them and the women they're with. That's where The Ultimate Dating Guide for Widowers comes in.

So when it comes to relationships, why can't these same women figure out what makes men commit? According to Steve, it's because they're asking other women for advice when they should be going directly to the source.

Studies keep showing that love after 50 is more satisfying than at any other stage in life, and it makes sense: At this stage, you are more emotionally stable and more focused on the present; you know what you absolutely have to have, but also what you can live without; partnering is no longer about building family and fortune — it’s about sharing intimacy as grounded individuals. And sex isn’t pass/fail anymore, but about becoming erotic friends.

Story
The greatest fear I had during my grieving was that I was losing control, going crazy, and might make decisions that would harm myself, my family, and my friends. This included suicidal thoughts, which scared the hell out of me. I was desperate to find answers. Quickly, I found those answers would be hard to find, as resources for widowers are minimal and often of dubious value. In Widower to Widower, I've compiled the most vital information I could find on the widower experience into one book, so the listener does not have to search as hard as I had to do.

Different people with different personalities express love in different ways. In fact, there are five very specific languages of love: Words of affirmation, gifts, acts of service, quality time, and physical touch. Dr. Gary Chapman’s original best seller was first crafted with married couples in mind, but the love languages have proven themselves to be universal. The message of this audiobook is now tailored to meet the unique and real desires of single adults.

A guy who rejects or breaks up with you should no longer exist in your life. Contacting him or allowing him to stay in touch with you will make you work harder and harder to convince him that you’re worth his love and attention, and it will compel you to play that ugly and unwinnable game called Chase-a-Man. The best way to avoid this ugly game and break his spell over you is to cut the guy off (cease all communications and interactions) for a set period of time, or in some cases, keep him cut off out of your life indefinitely.

Wonderful insight
I throughly enjoyed this book with its insight to a widower’s thoughts and views of dealing with losing a loved one and opening their heart to someone else. I love how the writer constantly appreciated the feelings and views that the new woman would have entering the relationship as well. Great read:)

great book. take out of it what you can use
I had to accept his suggestions and use what will work for me. my widower was married 35 years. I don't feel he should have to take all her pictures down. she was his wife for over half his life. she was a part of him that made him who he was today. He did take pictures out of the bedroom and moved his wedding ring to middle finger after a discussion. yes he created the solution to his widower problem and is currently making actions to let her go and making me first.

I’m a widow as well
Really enjoyed this book, and hearing other people’s experiences dating a widower. It even opened my eyes to a few things for myself as a 35 year old widow.

Amazing Bòok...Must read!
This Book was so on point with the relationship I just got out of with a widower. It sounded like he was reading my story . I couldn't believe how accurate he was with everything my widower said and did. I am heartbroken over the breakup but this book has helped me understand so many things . it has given me the closure I needed to move on that I'll never get from my ex. It doesn't make the pain anyless but it confirms that what I was feeling during the relationship about how I was being treated as always being second and compared to a ghost. the shrine of pictures everywhere, the fb posts. I was constantly being hurt and when I mentioned my feelings, I was told I was jealous and crazy for feeling that way . It's a relief to know I wasn't the one with the problem. Thank you so much Abel, you saved me from the constant thoughts about what did I do wrong and how can I fix it.

It was so on point!
I was going out with a widower at the time I listened to the book and it was sooo helpful. Very clear, very insightful and it shows you which are the red flags you should worry about and which things are just a normal process for a man who's lost his wife. Worth listening twice!

Great book, good narration
I thought this book was very well written and informative. Especially when entering a relationship with a widower. it gives good feedback om what it acceptable when you question if you are not trying to be cold or unsympathetic. I really like the boundaries and red flags. My favorite part though was listening to all the other stories.

Spot on!
This is my second dating-a-widow book. I found it confirmed what the first book said but to hear it from a widower’s perspective was most helpful.
My only complaint is I wish the stories coming from a woman be read in a woman’s voice. My brain had a hard time reconciling words from a female yet hearing a male voice.
Overall, an excellent book.

Very insightful and being older and dating after divorce…
Abel has given new perspective on dating widowers…another category of men. Who knew! A must read for older women dating.

Straight to the point guidance on what to be aware of dating a widower
This was helpful to quickly listen to after meeting a widower online that I fell for really quickly. It helped guide me and to be on the look out for what to be cautious about. Thank you, Abel!
