About this listen
Victor Bayne honed his dubious psychic skills at one of the first psych training facilities in the country, Heliotrope Station, otherwise known as Camp Hell to the psychics who've been guests behind its razorwire fence.
Vic discovered that none of the people he remembers from Camp Hell can be found online, and there's no mention of Heliotrope Station itself, either. Someone's gone through a lot of trouble to bury the past. But who?

Story
Victor Bayne, the psychic half a PsyCop team, is a gay medium who's more concerned with flying under the radar than in making waves. He hooks up with handsome Jacob Marks, a non-psychic (or "Stiff") from an adjacent precinct at his ex-partner's retirement party, and it seems like his dubious luck has taken a turn for the better. But then a serial killer surfaces who can change his appearance to match any witness' idea of the world's hottest guy.

Story
In 1960, a superfood was invented that made starvation a thing of the past. Manna, the cheaply manufactured staple food, is now as ubiquitous as salt in the world's cupboards, pantries and larders. Nelson Oliver knows plenty about manna. He's a food scientist–according to his diploma, that is. Lately, he's been running the register at the local video rental dive to scrape together the cash for his outrageously priced migraine medication.

Story
A psychic without an anchor. A student in trouble. A shooter on the loose.I’m Jonathan Bane, a licensed psychic who consults for the police. I routinely help the police put the bad guys away and, for that reason, the criminal world doesn’t like me much. People like to take a swing at me, or go stabbity, or try for a gun. It makes for interesting times. My psychic ability prevents me from handling anything electronic—and I do mean ANYTHING, I fry it in seconds—so calling for help isn’t always a possibility.

Samuel has one goal in life: fix his broken core. What does he not want? A bossy, overprotective, possessive, teasing dragon sticking his nose in business that is not his. Though I was born with the ability to see the dead, I struggled with it until my brother was killed and his ghost was left behind. Now, I’m determined to figure out who is responsible for his death…the problem is that Detective Maddox Booker, the one working the case, is a grumpy and stubborn man who wants nothing to do with me and definitely doesn’t believe in ghosts. It doesn’t help that I keep finding myself looking ridiculous in front of the detective, thanks to interfering ghosts who enjoy laughing at my expense.

Getting into the vampire-only detective unit was the easy part. What’s going to be more difficult is dealing with my new partner - an ancient vampire who keeps threatening to eat me. The unit has never had a human in it. Marcus - or, as I like to call him: Fangy McFangface - would really prefer to keep it that way. He’s grumpy, short-tempered, and broody, but I have a way with words, and I know he’s starting to like me, even if he swears he’s not.

Conor: It starts with a drunken text pic. The kind I would normally never send. Only, instead of it going to the flirty hotel bartender, it goes to some random stranger who actually responds. Wells: The first thing I notice about Conor Newell when he sits down in my high-rise conference room is how delightfully nervous he is. Then I see his tie. The same geeky tie that’s held hostage on my phone. The one that belongs to my anonymous late-night texter. And it changes everything.

Love this series!
This series gets better and better. The narrator does an excellent job of making sure that each character has their own voice. I love the way that each of the characters are kept distinct and the same in each book. I hope that this narrator continues for the rest of the books. There are great twists that show up in this book (no spoilers) that I can't wait to hear more! There is so much that happens, that I was on my toes for most of the story. Can't wait for the next one!

good
I think maybe this was my favorite so far. Maybe because it's longer than the others, so a more fleshed out story, but also I feel like Victor grew a lot during it. There were also some interesting developments for Jacob and Zig played a bigger role, both of which I appreciated. I look forward to seeing where the story goes from here! As always the narrator did an excellent job.

Camp Hell: Hell Yeah!
What made the experience of listening to Camp Hell the most enjoyable?
As usual, Gomez's narration is on point. His new voice, Stephan, is perfect. Can't wait to hear more from Crash.
What did you like best about this story?
That it is over 10 hours long.
Have you listened to any of Gomez Pugh’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have almost every audio book that he's narrated and they're all great.
If you could rename Camp Hell, what would you call it?
Hell Hath No Fury....
Any additional comments?
I want the next one NOW.

Cripes!
I loved everything about this. Learning more about what went on at Camp Hell and Vic’s talent and seeing more character development for Jacob, as well as growth in their relationship, which was just so sweet and sexy. Jacob is such a good boyfriend. So dreamy. The cop drama and paranormal elements as always were exciting, and I couldn’t wait to find out what would happen next. Not to mention Gomez Pugh’s narration was excellent as usual. Though I missed Lisa in this one. It’s fun seeing how Vic solves his cases and the crazy adventures and characters he runs into. Crash is so entertaining. The ending was the best so far & tugged at the heartstrings. Love this series. So addictive!

heart breaking
In this book we learn more about Vic's time in camp hell, the agony. Well we learn more about who is keeping taps on him. I think this is one my favorite books in the series. So much happened and so much to come.
I have already listened to the next book so I'm more excited with this book. So many questions were answered about Vic's personality.
