About this listen
When artificial memories are everywhere, how can you tell what’s real?
Daniel was a hotshot memorysmith, a major innovator in the field of recreational memories - until his father, Big Dan, suffered a freak persistent memory that sent their business into a tailspin. Now Daniel labors behind the scenes, seeking only to cure the persistent false memory and salvage their failing shop.
Elijah is the most talented mind in the memory industry, but because that mind is far from neurotypical, his potential is wasted teaching beginners at the mall. When his cobbled-together gear projects him into one of Daniel’s memory programs, a colorful but challenging relationship sparks to life.
The two men are an unlikely pair, but they have so much in common. Each is fiercely driven. Each is stunningly creative. And when Daniel and Elijah finally connect, each one realizes just how desperately he’s been searching for someone who truly understands him.
Most of all, they’re utterly committed to curing the persistent false memory. Daniel finally gives up his workaholic smokescreen. Elijah fends off the advice of everyone he trusts and joins forces with Daniel. Even Big Dan says he’s on board with their plan...but will he remember tomorrow?
This collection contains the novels The Persistence of Memory, Forget Me Not, and Life Is Awesome.

While forgetting your problems won't solve them, it does seem like it would make life a heck of a lot easier. Daniel thought so once. Now he knows better. He and Big Dan have always been close, which makes it all the more difficult to break the daily news: the last five years were nothing like his father remembers.

It’s really hard to pretend like life is normal when you’re staring a monster in the eyes, though he’s both tempting and irritating in his human form. Though I was born with the ability to see the dead, I struggled with it until my brother was killed and his ghost was left behind. Now, I’m determined to figure out who is responsible for his death…the problem is that Detective Maddox Booker, the one working the case, is a grumpy and stubborn man who wants nothing to do with me and definitely doesn’t believe in ghosts. It doesn’t help that I keep finding myself looking ridiculous in front of the detective, thanks to interfering ghosts who enjoy laughing at my expense.

Smart men never dabble with demons. I never claimed to be smart, but at least, I’m powerful enough to control them. When I bound Havoc to me nearly 300 years ago, I never realized how difficult he’d make my life, although “accidentally” lighting him on fire every now and then does bring a smile to my face. Havoc is handsome, mysterious, and somehow, my closest companion, even if we don’t always get along.

Getting into the vampire-only detective unit was the easy part. What’s going to be more difficult is dealing with my new partner - an ancient vampire who keeps threatening to eat me. The unit has never had a human in it. Marcus - or, as I like to call him: Fangy McFangface - would really prefer to keep it that way. He’s grumpy, short-tempered, and broody, but I have a way with words, and I know he’s starting to like me, even if he swears he’s not.

Samuel has one goal in life: fix his broken core. What does he not want? A bossy, overprotective, possessive, teasing dragon sticking his nose in business that is not his. Even if he is sexy and supports Samuel on his quest to find the lost Sousa Mage Clan. Utterly beside the point. He does not need a dragon boyfriend. (Un)fortunately, Dimitri disagrees.

A bit too spicy for me at times
Amazing book! Goes on my favorites list, and have already listened to it thrice before this review. Great worldbuilding, great writing, only a couple notes:
1. There's an autistic character who isn't consistently written accurately, and also the idea of "bypassing" the autism is senseless, though the resulting interactions are interesting.
2. This book is far too spicy for me, especially as a WLW why isn't much interested in men. I knew that going in, though, so it's on me. That being said, it's not a porn book (as in, half the book is sex), but actually a great novel with some sex scenes (usually plot-relevant) interspersed.

A Throwback to the Future
I absolutely loved Seth Clayton's performance in this trilogy!
Jordan Castillo Price wrote a great story. As with any science fiction, though, it is hard to keep up with the future. It may have totally been intentional, but I found the constant references to landline telephones with answering machines to be distracting - but that's mostly because I'm of that era, so it makes me nostalgic instead of future focused. The story was otherwise great and I listened from beginning to end with full attention. I love the characters and the easy "read," especially when read to me. A long recording of over 18hrs is not something I frequently take on, but this story was well worth it!

Small acceptable flaws
Good, but left some unresolved plot points by the end. I went in not knowing it was a romance novel, beware explicit scenes.

Love this author's work!
Just finished Remember Tomorrow and am left with a satisfaction with the end of story that doesn't always occur. The final mental picture of the characters in the story was more than an HEA. Combining current societal elements with fantastical technology made Castillo's world believable, and her people very real. Additional elements that made the story interesting and relevant was the inclusion of an autistic character, Elijah. I was fascinated by the work arounds Elijah had to use in order to function in what is considered normal everyday life, and how his neutral facial expression affect impacted the people around him. Elijah took what people said literally which led to confustion and frustration. Castillo developed Elijah's character to a higher level of functioning as he thought through the words and behaviors of the people around him. Fascinating to be on that mental journey! Daniel was in the midst of family and financial problems when he met Elijah. Daniel was deeply interested in Elijah, but wasn't sure he could live with Elijah's atypical neurology. Castillo developed Daniel's character through believable events that led to understanding himself and the people most important to him. This story felt well rounded, and with the exception of knowing the techology Castillo wove the story around doesn't exist today, I feel like I learned some things about life difficulties and resilience from Elijah and Daniel's story.

compelling story
The plot was interesting, the characters were well developed, the narration added nuance to the book. I am glad the trilogy is offered as a single audio book since there is single plot that really does arc across the three books. Elija's portrayal is fantastic. Strikes a good balance between romance and the well thought out sci fi elements.

Believable
The author wrote so convincingly about needing, I wanted to try it. Elijah was a well written character, I felt I knew him as a person and wanted to stand up for to all his bullies. And Daniel, he was the perfect flawed hero. He took care of his dad, Big Dan, and other family and friends. He didn't think he deserved to have any joy for himself. We, the readers saw the bigger picture. Loved the book and I think the narrator brought the story to life.

Trilogy review
This series tool me a while to get through. Usually if I put a book down a couple times, it’s not just a mood, and it stays put down. But I kept giving this one more chances and I’m glad I did.
The series is not action packed like the psycop series but that’s fine. It’s a group of (mostly) guys trying to run a business providing daydreams, detailing their stumbles and triumphs and friends, doing everyday (scifi) work.
The POVs switch off by book, with Daniel opening & closing. I liked getting Elijah’s POV in book 2 (though I am mad when bullies don’t get fired). I found Elijah more relatable than an affable 40yo guy who managed to have no close friends, although his dad’s “inverse of 50 First Dates” complication did make navigating his days tricky so maybe he’s fine. All in all, it’s a low key “day in the life” look at a couple of suburban guys who meet in a pretend world & make it real.
Steam: Low. There are some naked details but a lot of lower key sexytimes. Good consent & boundaries.
Narration: I liked the slightly stilted cadence for Elijah and the dumb puppy voice for Larry. Like the series, it was pleasantly low key.

SciFi/Romance/Adult!/LGBT/Mixed Couple
The writing is top-notch and highly creative. The performance is superb! It includes explicit sexual scenes, which remain within the boundaries of popular fantasy. I’d recommend this author or this narrator to anyone!

interesting subject
the subject itself was quite intriguing. something that perhaps could have very real potential, also the characters were engaging.
the performer also did a wonderful job differentiating the characters without it being jarring.
