About this listen

Finally in Krogga, Gregory found himself pulled into the solstice tournament to celebrate Krog. Invited by both the high priest and Council of Krogheim, Gregory and Jenn did their best to show that some magi had honor. While both of them lost to Ragnar Ivarson, the youngest High Champion in Krogga, that’d only set the stage for what the next year was going to be.

The weeks after the tournament were a whirlwind of ambassadorial visits and discussions, but eventually, a key meeting took place when Ragnar brought his sister, Verka, to visit the family. Having three reborn gods in the same room required some secrecy so they could even attempt to have a conversation, but they managed it.

Finding both Krog and Vera reborn was shocking to Gregory and his wives, but they accepted it. Verka didn’t balk at having to complete the steps to marry into the family, either, even if it would be years before they could wed…or so they all thought.

Ragnar’s raid into the empire saw the city of Bloodrock become part of Krogga once again. That short war changed many lives; the most notable was General Ruzi, who, for the first time, lost a war that he’d been leading. The winner would be decided with an agreed-upon set of honor duels to end the stalemate it had become— following the empire’s loss, Ragnar invoked the clause he’d added to name Gregory as the one to marry Verka.

Returning to the embassy, Gregory and his family knew that life was going to get busy before the solstice. They would have to attend their duties as assistant ambassadors, plus more. What they were really looking forward to was when Verka officially joined the family as a wife near the solstice.

None of them knew what machinations had been put into play by others. Their lives had a lot of joy coming soon, but there was also hardship and pain hiding just out of sight…they’d be tested to overcome something they never expected.

Another great book. Looking forward to the next one. And once again, the voice actor did a fantastic job.

I like slice of life stories, don't get me wrong. I just wish a little more of the action happen throughout. At times there doesn't seem to be a through line, but when there is it's great! I want to see Greg get stronger and rise to the levels where things actually start happening with the story. Or we get time skips to see other postings as we make our way towards Greg working with other clans to show them the way and start slowly chipping away at Togo.

Good story. excellent performance, I just wish all the action scenes weren't right at the end.

Wish we got more Action throughout.

Mostly filler very little really progression for the story or the characters growth narrator still does a good job the ending almost makes up for it

Pretty disappointing filler but great ending

Just as the title excellent book, can’t wait for the next and I can’t believe what happened in the last half. They didn’t see it coming, although I really am bummed that there’s no blooper at the end of this one.

Excellent book can’t wait for the next

Overall, great. Can't really say more than that. Though I must say that Buldoun brought it upon themselves. Hopefully we'll learn the reason in the next book.

Now that is a Blunder

absolutely one of my favorites series by this author. the narrator delivers a fantastic performance. the story heats up towards the end as a significant amount of fighting. there's a bittersweet scene and I definitely can't wait for the sequel to be released. all in all a resounding sound of a Applause for everybody who had a hand and bringing the story to us,

highly recommended

This book continues the Author’s and Narrator’s tradition rewarding you time and investment. Even when this book seems to focus on smaller parts of a much broader story they always seem to build to something bigger. Can’t wait to continue this journey

Stellar Storytelling and Narration continues
