How can we live a life above sin and self? First Corinthians is such a great letter because it deals with the believer’s conduct, how we can live a life pleasing to God.Paul was grieved because the carnal Corinthians were living beneath their privileged position in Christ and not walking in a manner worthy of their calling. The Corinthians were guilty of conduct unbecoming of a saint. Ungodly thinking, leads to ungodly living, resulting in ungodly labor. This letter works effectually in the believer to make us willing (like Paul) to serve the Lord Jesus Christ even if we are treated like a spectacle, the filth of this world, and the offscouring of all things. Our ministry is not about us, but the power of Christ crucified and risen again. Our goal is to save the lost and share the mystery.
